Following emergency brain surgery on February 12, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is resting in the hospital.
“All I will say right now is surgery went well,” Teddi’s estranged husband Edwin Arroyave reported on his Instagram Story. “That said, I’ve never seen @teddimellencamp in so much pain. She’s finally getting some needed rest. I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love.”
The mom of three has kept followers updated on social media since announcing the news that she had “multiple tumors” on her brain.
Emergency surgery for two tumors in Teddi Mellencamp’s brain
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches,” she wrote at the time. “Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months.”
Two of the larger tumors were removed the same day as her post. “The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date,” she added.
Teddi later posted photos and videos of herself getting a buzz cut prior to her surgery.
The lifestyle coach also thanked her “children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.”
Teddi has been battling melanoma (skin cancer) for a couple of years now. It’s not clear whether her brain tumors are related to her previous diagnosis.
“Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey,” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.
Friends and family were by Teddi’s side as she heals
Despite their pending divorce, Edwin was at Teddi’s side as she was wheeled into surgery. He was accompanied by two of their shared children, son Cruz (10) and daughter Dove (4). The couple also share an 11-year-old daughter Slate.
In his Instagram post, Edwin wrote that he was praying for God’s “healing touch” and “comforting presence.” He also asked that Teddi would have “peace, hope, and full recovery.”
Two other friends stopped by before Teddi’s surgery. RHOBH costar Kyle Richards and country music star Morgan Wade visited to offer love and support.
Meanwhile, Teddi’s Two Ts In a Pod co-host Tamra Judge also sent her love in the February 12 episode of their podcast.
“I’ll allow Teddi to tell her story when she’s back,” the Real Housewives of Orange County star said through tears. “You all know how much she loves this podcast and wants nothing more than for us to continue … while she focuses on her health.”
