The recent LA Wildfires devastated an entire city. Formerly thriving communities now resemble a scene from end times, complete with still-smoking embers in various sections. Sadly, Erika Jayne knows firsthand these truths, as her son, Timmy Zizzo, is one of the many first responders who rose to help save their city. The images Tommy saw will forever be burned in his memory, and as his mother, Erika shares his burdens.
The only beautiful part of natural disasters like these is the heroes. To Tommy (and all others everywhere), we thank you. When others run out, you run in. On your showings of bravery, our hearts will forever be grateful.
Tommy Zizzo was eager to assist with the LA wildfires, Erika Jayne reveals
Erika recently sat down with the Resilient Life podcast. Here, she reminded us that Tommy is a police officer with the LAPD, and, according to Erika, Tommy was keen on serving in his position via the front lines of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Tommy likely knows this, but even still, “The first thing he said was, ‘I need to go there.’ He was asking to go,” Erika proudly revealed. Tommy was then sent to Malibu, where their family once owned a home. But what Tommy encountered here was devastating.
Tommy “called me after his shift, [saying], ‘I don’t recognize where I’m at, Mom.’ This is bad,’” Erika solemely reported.
Erika then added that being the mother of a first responder is difficult. However, Tommy has an individualized path to follow, so Erika remains “very proud of” her boy. Inserting her signature dark, dry humor next, this Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star half joked, half pleaded with her son to not do anything crazy, and to “please, come home” safely at the end of his shift.
