Austen Kroll and Craig Conover have been bosom buddies forever. But it doesn’t mean the Trop Hop owner has the right to comment on his friend’s affairs. But as Southern Charm fans have learned, Austen has a tough time keeping his opinions to himself. Earlier this week, he spoke out on a podcast about Craig’s recent breakup and his opinions were not favorable.
Austen Kroll is all over Craig Conover’s breakup
Season 10 has been an emotional roller coaster for Austen, who is dealing with his own breakup from Craig. The 37-year-old shared, “I think that at the root of it, Craig has always viewed me as Mr. Season Four. And so I don’t think that he’s ever quite given me the respect level. He’s always like, if we’re on season 30, he’s like, ‘But I’ve done it for four seasons longer than you.’” Austen broke his theory down further. “It’s always been that way a little bit. And he got picked on by [Shep Rose] and [Whitney Sudler-Smith] to the ends of the earth. And then I came around, and Craig’s like, ‘Oh, I can kind of pick on Austen.’”
According to Austen, “The writing was on the wall for me, and I was just like, you know, we opened our bar, and she didn’t come down for the opening, and I know that she’s busy. I’m not saying that she’s not. We all know that she’s busy.” The Charmer couldn’t get his mind around the idea that Paige DeSorbo wouldn’t squeeze Craig into her schedule. He added, “But, like, you really do make time for the people that you care about, and so it was just like a couple things. She hadn’t been in Charleston in ages.” At this time, Austen just felt his freind was going through the motions of acting like he was in a relationship with the Summer House star.
Austen Kroll is spilling the tea
Austen had a lot to say. He told listeners that even though Craig and Paige made plans for the holidays which included visiting their families in Delaware and Albany, New York, with a quick trip to London, both were acting odd. Ever the eagle-eyed investigator, Austen noticed that on Christmas, each was posted from their respective houses. “Even prior to that … and I’m trying to delicately do this so I don’t, like, betray things he said to me, but I just had noticed — and Craig doesn’t typically open up about him and Paige,” shared Austen.
The reality TV star added “I find out what you guys find out, like on the show. He tends to be more honest on the show — in certain capacities — than he does to me, but he had said something to me along the lines of, ‘We just had a talk on the phone for 30 minutes, and she thinks I’m mad at her because she’s super busy and blah blah blah,’” he recalled. Austen told fans, “I was like, ‘Okay, that is like a normal thing, Craig, and thank you for coming to me to say something cuz you rarely do.’”
Austen Kroll should really mind his business
I find it quite humorous that Austen would insert his two cents into Craig’s business. The man doesn’t have the best track record with women, so it feels hypocritical that he would share that he saw red flags within Paige. To be honest, Austen has been the walking red flag. I mean, he has his own threesome video, so he isn’t exactly a relationship guru. I also assume that Craig won’t take too kindly to having Austen’s opinion interjected into the drama.
The two are supposed to be fixing their friendship. But fans know that Craig is a pretty private person. So, if he had confided in Austen, he wouldn’t have wanted the information spread. But for some inexplicable reason, I don’t exactly believe that Austen was given any inside information. I think Craig would have known better than to bare his soul to the town gossip. So, while I always love a bit of Austen delusion this time, I really think he should have kept his thoughts to himself.
