A few new faces joined the cast of Southern Charm Season 10. And one of them, Molly O’Connell, is a total breath of fresh air on the long-running Bravo series. Molly is gorgeous, hilarious, and relatable. Her good looks and self-deprecating sense of humor earned comparisons to movie star Jennifer Lawerence, and with good reason. She’s a perfect fit for Southern Charm, and here’s why.
Molly O’Connell fits in perfectly with the Southern Charm cast

While Season 10 is Molly’s official Southern Charm debut, she has a long-standing history with the cast. Madison LeCroy introduced her pal as one of her favorite people in the season premiere. From that conversation, we learned that Molly used to sext Craig Conover before his relationship with Paige DeSorbo.
Molly’s also known Whitney Sudler Smith for ten years. She actually appeared as his date a few years prior. Even Patricia Altschul liked her, assigning her the seat next to her son at Easter dinner. Unfortunately, Whitney squashed their chances at romance by rudely body-shaming Molly when she was just trying to enjoy a cupcake sandwich. Molly has chemistry with many of the Southern Charm cast members, either as friends or potential romantic interests.
Molly O’Connell and Salley Carson are Southern Charm’s new dynamic duo
Like Molly, fellow Season 10 newcomer Salley Carson is a perfect addition to Southern Charm. Molly and Salley were friends before the show, which makes their casting even better. Viewers want more of Molly and Salley’s one-on-one scenes.
In the January 30 episode, Molly and Salley opened up about the work they’ve had done. Like all of their scenes so far, the duo were transparent and unapologetic about it. Salley revealed she was getting her implants out because she did it for her ex, not for herself. Molly admitted she had a fat transfer into her boobs. As they both listed all they had done, they reflected on how tough it is to be a woman.
“Your face looks great,” Salley said. “Thank you, your face looks great,” Molly replied. “We’re beautiful!” Salley shouted. “Cheers to our beautiful faces!” Molly said. Cheers to this beautiful friendship!
Molly’s enthusiasm for music is adorable
Molly isn’t just a pretty face. In addition to her modeling career, she also plays the euphonium, aka a type of tuba. Her passion for music was on full display when the rest of the cast attended the concert where she had a solo.
Molly revealed that she started playing from a young age, and almost went to college on a full ride for it. Then her modeling career took center stage. But a few years ago, she had a revelation that she needed to get back to music because it’s her great passion. She had this epiphany while rocking out to 80’s tunes, no less.
Molly made fun of herself for crying over a tuba, but her unbridled enthusiasm for the band is one of the many things that makes her such a lovable cast member. It was absolutely adorable to see the cast cheering her on, as she thanked them for supporting her “nerd stuff.”
Molly calls out the men of Charleston

One of the reasons Molly’s so relatable is because she opens up about dating woes. She doesn’t hold back about how hard it is to date in Charleston. Which we’ve seen in the past ten years of this show.
Molly specifically called out the immaturity of so many eligible Charleston bachelors. Not unlike certain cast members of this show. “Charleston is full of Peter Pan garbage men who suck at life,” she said. “I think a lot of Southern men … they just want some young girl who’s not gonna question them on things.” However, Molly rightfully added, “I’m gonna question them on everything!” As you should, Molly!
Molly makes Shep Rose more likable
As of late, the Southern Charm cast is shipping Molly with Shep Rose. Their chemistry was on display from their first one-on-one scene. Shep happened to cross paths with her as she was taking a dog on a walk. He admitted he was blown away by Molly’s good looks when he saw her, even before he realized who she was. Molly admitted it’s a mutual attraction.
From there, the conversation turned to Molly’s upcoming concert. Shep was incredibly impressed to learn she plays the tuba. His enthusiasm for classical music in their conversation was the most likable Shep’s been in … years? It was also adorable to see Shep act like her biggest fan when the cast attended Molly’s concert. He even stood up in the audience so he could see her. And the editors kept cutting back to his reaction, showing how emotional he got over music.
As Shep’s current relationship falls apart, everyone on the show is rooting for him and Molly. Including Salley, who hooked up with Shep in the past! Lots of Southern Charm viewers are shipping Molly and Shep as well. We’ll have to wait and see how things unfold between these two. But regardless, it’s clear Molly’s won over Southern Charm cast members and viewers alike.
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
