Is anyone else’s jaw still on the floor from the first batch of episodes from Love Is Blind Season 8? We had love triangles, an “ibuprofen” addiction, and a mysterious Instagram follow that left one girl unnerved. It was a lot to digest, but one of the most surprising moments came when Alex Brown and Madison Errichiello decided not to get engaged, even though they spent a good chunk of time in the pods as “boyfriend and girlfriend.”
On the show, Alex said that Madison’s lackluster communication skills made him apprehensive about moving forward. They also spent way too much time talking about Madison’s split from Mason Horacek. The whole thing was painfully awkward, and now, Alex is shedding more light on why they didn’t move forward.
Communication was the key for Love Is Blind’s Alex and Madison

In an interview with E! News, Alex opened up about his decision to not move forward with his relationship with Madison. It seemed like it all came down to that awkward conversation at the end. However, the writing was already on the wall before that.
“We were just on different pages,” Alex explained. “We realized that a couple times throughout the pod dates that we just have different styles of communication, and we just realized that we were not super compatible.”
Although Madison seemed conflicted about which guy she wanted, Alex doesn’t think that impacted things. He felt like Madison was being “authentic,” which is what he likes in a girl. For him, it ultimately came down to communication and compatibility.
“It’s just overall really challenging when you’re in the situation to navigate all the different people and the dates,” Alex explained, right before calling out us judgemental fans watching at home.
“I know it’s easy to judge when you’re watching it on Netflix, but it’s really difficult,” he continued. “You have all these people that you really connect with, and then you have to narrow it down to one, and you have to be careful about what you say, and there’s so many things to consider.”
Love Is Blind Season 8 is streaming on Netflix, with new episodes dropping on February 21.
