Craig Conover is reflecting on his time with Paige DeSorbo with a clearer head. It’s taken a few months to get there, and a lot has been going on in the press between the former lovers. Fans on either side are analyzing every word. Some critics of the Southern Charm star are suggesting that Craig fell back on his tendency to embellish the truth.
But if that’s the case, perhaps Craig was only lying to himself. After teasing the idea of moving to New York when he and Paige split, Craig is now admitting that he’s a Southern boy at heart.
Charleston is where Craig Conover “wants to raise kids”
Craig recently appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss the breakup. It was there that he admitted he loves his backyard too much to trade it in for the Big Apple. And the reality TV star has plans for the home he cultivated. He also denied Paige’s claims that he was texting other women while in a relationship with her.
“The city’s not for me,” he admitted. “You know, I love New York City, [but] I want to live at the beach and have a backyard, you know, a garden. I go back to my house in Charleston and I’m like ‘This is where I want to raise kids.’”
In a conflicting statement not too long ago, Craig told Page Six, “Honestly, I will always be a part of Charleston, but I’m starting to love this like New York energy and the challenges that come with New York, and I think I’ll be spending more time up here. So as long as I have an airport, I can get to my meetings.”
Craig doubled down on the statement while on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen February 6.
The Southern Charm star said, “We’ve been together for three years. We were planning our future together. I was moving to New York.”
Indeed, Craig started traveling more for work. And there was a shift away from his home base in Charleston, South Carolina that gave fans of the couple hope that they could make it work. Now, it’s clear that Craig is not going anywhere.
