Nicki Minaj showed her support for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky on Instagram after his not guilty trial verdict on Tuesday in an assault case. A jury acquitted Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, on two counts of felony assault stemming from a 2021 case for allegedly firing a gun at his former friend over an argument. The BBC reported that the charges carried up to 24 years in prison, but the jury deliberated for three hours after a three-week-long trial to find that there was reasonable doubt of his guilt.

Following A$AP Rocky’s not guilty trial verdict from Tuesday, Nicki Minaj showered support on him and Rihanna via an Instagram note. Minaj took to her stories where she posted a family portrait of the longtime partners with their two sons, RZA Athelston Mayers and Riot Rose Mayers. She then added her song “Blessings” to the photo and wrote over it, “To God be the glory.” As for the image, it showed Rihanna holding Riot and Rocky with RZA as they posed in stylish outfits and looked cozy as a family of four.
The singer’s show of solidarity came after Rocky’s highly publicized assault case concluded with an acquittal. The jury found him not guilty on both counts in connection with the allegations the rapper’s former friend made regarding a 2021 incident. Terell Ephron, who goes by A$AP Relli, had accused him of opening fire over an argument on November 6 of that year not far from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Nevertheless, the Grammy-nominated artist denied all accusations, claiming it was a prop gun and that Ephron had financial motives.
Besides Nicki Minaj’s support, Rihanna also shared an Instagram photo with her first statement since A$AP Rocky’s trial verdict. In the note, she wrote, “The glory belongs to God and God alone. Thankful, humbled by His mercy.” The Fenty Beauty founder previously showed her unwavering support for Rocky by making court appearances during the proceedings.
