Keep Teddi Mellencamp in your thoughts. As the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum recuperates from emergency brain surgery, she and her loved ones are preparing for a long road to recovery.
The reality star and podcaster revealed last week that doctors discovered multiple tumors following her ongoing struggles with melanoma. The news came after she went to the hospital reporting “unbearable” headaches. Although doctors performed emergency surgery to remove some of the tumors, the smaller ones will require radiation treatment.
Teddi Mellencamp and her family are bracing for a lengthy recovery
Ahead of Teddi’s surgery, she shared on Instagram that she felt “blessed” to be surrounded by loved ones and healthcare professionals committed to her recovery. According to a report from The Sun, they’re now gearing up for a complex recovery.
“Doctors have told her this will be a long-term recovery process,” a source told the outlet. “The recovery length is dependent on a lot of ‘to be determined’ factors, but doctors have been upfront this could be a years-long battle.”
According to this source, getting back to “normal” could take six months to a year. That includes having to rebuild certain motor functions. In some instances, patients recovering from this type of surgery require speech therapy.
There are still a lot of uncertainties in Teddi’s case. However, if there’s one thing we know about her, it’s that she’s resilient. Most importantly, she has her loved ones rallying around her. The insider said that everyone in Teddi’s corner feels “confident” that she will “work harder than anyone” to get back to where she was. We’re all rooting for her.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs every Tuesday at 8/7c on Bravo.
