Interview Magazine shared a TikTok clip offering behind-the-scenes from their conversation with Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco for their March issue cover shoot. While the clip started on a light note, it took an unexpected turn as the chart-topping producer revealed the bouts of existential crisis he has when he showers.

Cozied up on the couch, the star couple answered questions about each other. Reading the cue card out loud, Gomez asked who among the two took longer showers. This prompted her to point to Blanco, compelling him to defend himself as he braced himself to answer with an “Okay!” He confessed that whenever he showered, he sat down there “contemplating life.” Additionally, he turned to the Rare Beauty founder, asking whether she had cried in the shower.

While Gomez dodged the question with a laugh, the record producer continued, “It’s incredible,” adding, “Sometimes, you just got to have a good cry.” However, things took an existential turn as he confessed to having “death realizations” in the shower. In response, Gomez let out a big “woah” as she stared at her fiancé in disbelief.

Expanding upon his statement, Blanco said he will sometimes think about his own mortality, but being in the shower helps. “I realize I’m gonna die, but it’s in the shower,” Blanco explained. He added that the feeling “goes away” after crying and the warm water makes him “feel great.” While he answered the question, Gomez hid her face with the Q&A card until the couple switched to the next question.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s “I Said I Love You First” album will be released on March 21. In addition to their latest song from the album, “Scared of Loving You,” they have previously worked on their hit single, “I Can’t Get Enough,” which garnered positive reactions from fans worldwide.
