Tyla cooked up a storm and made it look easy in Vogue‘s recent video, serving in the kitchen just like she would on stage or with her music. As the fashion magazine’s new cover star, it was only necessary that she also cooked her comfort meal by introducing her favorite South African dinner to the world, along with a refreshing margarita from her childhood days. On top of that, the artist looked as sexy as ever behind the kitchen counter, wearing a cropped top and low-waisted bottoms to flaunt her toned physique.
Tyla cooks a batch of South African dinner for Vogue
Tyla‘s cooking video for Vogue showed her serving her favorite South African dinner with a hint of her signature spiciness. Introducing the dish, she announced she was making pap, chutney, and boerewors and urged her native people to “not judge” how she makes it, explaining that “everybody makes it differently.” The 23-year-old started with boerewors, which she noted “look like sausages” and placed the ingredients for the chutney with other necessary items, such as salt, spoons, and a massive knife.
The singer’s cooking video came with a whole lotta confessions, including how she is “not the best cook” but can certainly “cook to survive.” Moreover, her long nails added to her struggles in the kitchen while she tried her best to chop the peppers. Tyla also delved into her choice of dinner, revealing it’s her “favorite” thing to eat and that she is always talking about it but people never know what she means “when I say pap and chutney.” Before even starting her cooking, she questioned if she was being “messy” in the most adorable way.
Besides her love for the South African dinner she was cooking, Tyla’s Vogue video came with a disclaimer. “I can make you some stuff, but don’t be expecting every night a whole three-course meal because I’m not one of those girls,” she said after admitting her love for food but dislike for “cooking it.” The Grammy winner even had a touch-up done while in the middle of it and reminisced about her mother’s cooking.
Finally, after almost finishing the dish, Tyla announced she “killed it” and plated everything on the most stunning platter in a gourmet-style presentation. She took a bite and flaunted a big thumbs up at the camera, showing that her dish was a complete success.
