Ever since Season 14 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey came to an end, fans have been worried. Between the women being literally split down the middle and refusing to film it feels like now more than ever that there will be a reboot. A fresh start can be good for the OGs, who have lost their way during the last few seasons. Now rumors are swirling that the network has figured out three women to pause. And I think these rumors might be the saving grace the franchise needs.
Andy Cohen refuses to spill the beans on RHONJ
The kingpin of the network has kept all news regarding the Real Housewives of New Jersey under wraps. However, an insider has shared with OK! Magazine that Bravo has selected three women from the last season to continue with Season 15. To make the news even more interesting, one of the three women is being looked at for their own spinoff as well. But this means the rest of the cast’s run on the franchise has come to an end. As for the choices, the source said, “The three women Bravo has kept engaged are Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and Dolores Catania.”
According to the source, “the other women – Margaret Josephs, Danielle Cabral, and Rachel Fuda were not given retention notices, and, at this time, Bravo is not pursuing them for a spot on RHONJ or any other side projects.” The insider noted that Rachel was a “strong contender” for Season 15, but her husband got in the way of her comeback. It was shared that “Bravo found her husband difficult to deal with behind the scenes and didn’t feel it was worth the headache,” the insider explained.
This RHONJ Season 15 cast is interesting
While I might have thought that Melissa would be let go, it seems the Envy owner holds a special place in the network’s heart. The insider noted, “Bravo loves the dynamic her husband [Joe Gorga] brings to the show. They find him funny and think viewers enjoy watching him do shots and interact with the other men,” the source continued. “This isn’t something they wanted to let go of just yet.” Could Melissa and Joe be the spinoff the source was hinting at?
I could see this idea working out for both parties. It would give Melissa an exit strategy from the franchise. And this would mean she would officially never have to work with Teresa Giudice again. However, the source hinted that it might be Teresa headed for her own series. “As far as where the women will wind up at this point, it’s looking likely RHONJ will be led by Melissa and Dolores, and Teresa will be given a spin-off. While fans still likely want to see both Melissa and Teresa on RHONJ, there just isn’t a world where that has any chance of happening due to where things stood last season and continue to stand today.”
This RHONJ shakeup could be a good thing
Anyone involved in the Bravosphere knows not to put all their eggs in one rumor basket. But this information could be the light at the end of the tunnel for RHONJ. The franchise will most likely be getting the overhaul it so desperately needs right now. With Dolores at the helm, I imagine the show will go back to its roots of being all about family. It could also mean that fans see more of Frank Catania as he is a fan favorite. As for a spinoff about Tre, I’m not so sure I’m sold on that idea.
It seems odd to keep rewarding Teresa for her bad behavior. Fans are not invested in her marriage to Luis Ruelas either. And no one wants to watch Tre and her daughter push faux designer products. The OG also seems out of touch with viewers as of late. But the news of the three OGs returning in some capacity gives fans a bit of hope. At the very least, we will get some normalcy back on our small screen in 2026.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is available to stream on Peacock.
