Johnny Bananas is a legend on The Challenge. He joined Season 2 of The Traitors, but his stint in the show was brief. Johnny was the first Faithful murdered. He never even had a chance to play the game! Yet, somehow, Vanderpump Rules alum Tom Sandoval is still walking around the castle during Season 3, hunting for Traitors. Well, Johnny invited Tom on his podcast, but Tom opted out for an interesting reason.
Why did Tom Sandoval decline his chance to appear on Johnny Bananas’ podcast?
Tom isn’t having an easy time on The Traitors. His frightening pit stains on the show garnered the internet’s attention. And his wild gaze has shocked many viewers. The fact that Tom is still in the game is a bit of a miracle.
Welp, Johnny recently sat down with The Valley star Jax Taylor for his podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany. And the subject was Tom, and how he hasn’t been the same since Scandoval. “I’ve said this to everybody. What he did was wrong, I get it, but he’s done his time,” Jax stated of his longtime friend. Johnny added, “The punishment at this point doesn’t fit the crime.”
Then Johnny explained that Tom declined a chance to be on his podcast. The reason? He was “getting a chemical peel.” Oof.
“Okay, so his priorities are so effed up. He doesn’t say, “Hey listen, I need a plan. I have structure, this is what I wanna do,'” Jax explained. “He’s just living by the seat of his pants, and it’s not his fault. I really think that he had some serious trauma. He’s got PTSD.”
Johnny agreed that the amount of hate thrown at Tom was overwhelming. “The amount of …negativity and public scrutiny that this guy was under … I remember [when] it happened,” Johnny said, “all this sh*t got out right before I went away for one of my [seasons on The Challenge]. I got back 10 weeks later, and it was still f*cking like rabid dogs.”
Right now, Tom does have something positive to sing about. He and his girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, just celebrated their one-year anniversary. Plus, he is embarking on a tour with his band.
I don’t know how far Tom makes it on Season 3 of The Traitors, but he has been entertaining on the show.
