Last week on Southern Hospitality, Grace’s last minute appearance at Maddi’s show exposed the deeper problems in their friendship. Lake confronted Will about the latest cheating rumors. Will and Emmy’s excuse was that law school is so competitive, someone fabricated cheating rumors just to make him look bad. No one bought this. Joe had one last surprise for the Vegas trip, and got fake married to Maddi in an Elvis-officiated ceremony. Here’s what happened in Southern Hospitality Season 3 Episode 8, “Wieners and Losers.”
What happened on Southern Hospitality Season 3 Episode 8?

This week, some of the Southern Hospitality cast recover from Vegas better than others. Michols gets Republic back in tip top shape after things went awry while he was away. Maddi and Joe aren’t in a honeymoon stage after their wedding. TJ prepares for the launch of Sir Wieners, which features cameos from the cast of Southern Charm. Emmy puts up a united front with Will, but she can’t escape the rumor mill.
Are Emmy and Will in a better place than Joe and Maddi?

Emmy and Will put on a united front after Vegas. They hope that Will is able to go back to be friends with the guys. They also agree that Maddi seems freaked out by the wedding.
They’re not wrong. When Maddi and Joe get up (at 5:30 p.m.) she rolls her eyes at him calling her “wife.” She emphasizes the wedding wasn’t real. But does Joe know that?
Emmy recalls that Joe got angry at her and Maddi for playing Blackjack after the wedding. He literally said that Maddi left him on their wedding night. Especially after he ordered everything from lobster to a vegan BLT. “How do I not get laid on our wedding night?” Joe laments. But as Maddi says, “It’s not our actual wedding night!”
Emmy wonders if Maddi loves the idea of Joe. Will wonders if things got “too real too quick.”
Lake friend-zones Brad back

Lake had fun with Brad in Vegas, but she sees their make out as the end of something, not the beginning. “What was fun about this ‘relationship’ was the chase,” she says. But now it’s time to put it away. Or, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. She tells Michols she plans to act like nothing happened.
In fact, she goes on a double date with Michols and Preston. Not with Brad, but Shelby, who is visiting town. Shelby is Lake’s long time best friend, and they are often intimate with each other. Lake calls her a “best friend with benefits.” But Lake gets real about how she fears her sexuality isn’t accepted in her very successful Southern Christian family. Michols can obviously relate.
TJ prepares for Sir Wieners

TJ is nervous about his first Sir Wieners event. It’s been three weeks since his meeting with Leva, and he’s been super busy coordinating the promo and marketing. He also has to deal with logistics about the hot dog cart and figuring out recipes with the chef. TJ wants to prove to everyone that it’s not just a great idea, but also something he can successfully make a reality. Also, Sir Wieners was the pet name for his ex who cheated and destroyed TJ’s confidence. He wants to rebrand the name as a successful business that proves naysayers like his ex wrong.
TJ also didn’t appreciate Will’s comments in Vegas. When TJ showed his tattoo, Will quipped that he hadn’t sold any hot dogs yet. TJ thinks Will is too arrogant now, and still isn’t being honest. Maybe they’ve outgrown their friendship. Mia is frustrated with Emmy’s intense denial about the cheating rumors. Along with Molly, they continue to point out the absurdity of Will’s latest excuse. Molly theorizes that Emmy melts down about Will “because she doesn’t know who she is without him.”
Emmy gets questioned by her sister

Emmy hangs out with her youngest sister Peyton. She fills her in on the latest rumors, but insists the naysayers have only brought her and Will closer together and more in love. “I think Will’s gonna propose next summer,” she says, asking if they should get married in London. “That’d be fun,” Peyton says. But she adds, “I think it’s good that you believe Will, cause me personally, I probably wouldn’t.”
Clearly taken aback by this, Emmy lists all the reasons she doesn’t believe it. Her and Will are best friends! They tell each other everything! People only cheat when they’re not in love with their partner anymore, so Will wouldn’t do that to her! Emmy asks Peyton if she seems happy. Peyton says yes, but adds, “you seem overwhelmed.” Emmy laughs, but admits it’s been “a rough f*cking summer.”
It’s TJ’s big day

The group comes out for the Sir Wieners launch. Joe and TJ are getting along great again. Will shows up even though he hates hot dogs. Cue Emmy showing up in a hot dog costume. Despite his hatred of hot dogs, Will declares his girlfriend best dressed. TJ appreciates their support and is pleasantly surprised they came. Mia works the merch table. Southern Charm cast members Taylor, Gaston, and Rodrigo, and alum Rod, show up to support their friend TJ. Leva declares the event a huge success and says she’s proud of TJ. He almost broke even, which is rare on a first night.
After the event, Taylor told him Emmy seemed to blame TJ for her rough summer. Emmy denies this, and hopes the event marks them being cool with each other again. However, she also admits she doesn’t trust TJ and is keeping him at a distance. But at least TJ and Joe are truly back in a great place.
Maddi and Joe’s fake wedding causes real problems

At TJ’s event, Maddi tells Leva about the fake wedding. Joe tells Brad he wants to propose to Maddi soon. Brad wonders if Joe is insecure about his relationship with Maddi’s career success.
Brad and Maddi’s mom both agree that the couple is moving a bit fast after only a few months of dating. Maddi tells her mom she wants to focus on her career right now instead of getting married for real.
When Joe sees Maddi browsing through Zillow, he asks about moving in together. As he sees it, he’s already at her place seven days a week. Maddi reminds Joe that he was one of the people who gave her crap for moving in with Trevor. And that was after a year of dating. Maddi is still scarred by the consequences of that decision. She doesn’t want to get hurt again. Joe realizes they aren’t on the same page, and aren’t on the fast track to real life marriage like he thought. And next week, it looks like Michols has to reprimand them for fighting at work. So much for a honeymoon stage.
Southern Hospitality airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
