It was a grim start when Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover announced their break up shortly after the New Year. For three years, these two have been the go-to Bravo couple. They were young, attractive, funny, and hustling to build a life for themselves. But somewhere along the way, the two started walking down separate paths. Now that the dust has settled, Paige is doing her best to clarify how the demise of their courtship really went down. And while we don’t usually talk about the timeline, Paige is making sure to mention it all.
Paige DeSorbo has been hung out to dry
During a recent episode of her podcast, Giggly Squad, Paige tried her best to break down the timeline regarding where it all went wrong. While giggling with Hannah Berner, the fashionista opened up about how neither one had been blindsided by the breakup. She shared with listeners that she was single and back in the dating pool. But perhaps most importantly, Paige made it clear that she did not physically or emotionally cheat on the Sewing Down South founder. Paige also shut down the rumors that she had a new boyfriend.
For about a year before their break up, Southern Charm and Summer House fans started to notice just how much time they spent apart. It also didn’t go unnoticed that Paige was thrilled to live an independent life in New York City while Craig stayed within the safety of his backyard. Craig asked more than once about moving forward with an engagement, but Paige never seemed interested. So, most fans knew that this relationship was not going to end with another Bravo wedding. With that being said, Paige still expected a bit of support as she hoped they’d remain friends.
Paige DeSorbo outlined the time of events
It seems like the friend-ship (see what I did there) has sailed. During the podcast, Paige also shared the timeline of events that led to the public breakup. According to the influencer, she and Craig ended it all over Thanksgiving weekend. She had a lot to be thankful for over the dinner table. Shortly after, Craig did a press junket for Southern Charm. During interviews, he pretended that they were still together. And according to Paige, she was cool with it. She told listeners “When I announced my breakup on Giggly Squad, I thought really hard about how I was going to say it, the words I was going to use, because of this exact thing.”
“I didn’t want to do a back-and-forth. But since no one’s sticking up for me on the other side…perpetuating even more rumors, I will say that Craig and I broke up Thanksgiving weekend. Okay? That’s at the end of November,” she quipped. “I saw that my ex-boyfriend was on a trip, presenting himself as single. And I said, ‘Oh, here we go. We’re ready to announce.’”
Paige DeSorbo is over being the bad guy
Paige told Hannah, “I then texted him whilst he was on this trip and said I’m going to say something on ‘Giggly Squad’ and we can both start moving forward. It’s been a full month now. My text went unanswered.” And I have to be honest; it almost feels like Craig might have had his ego hurt and was actively trying to change the timeline. According to Paige, this is exactly what happened. She shared, “The narrative just took a turn really quickly. That I had cheated, that I broke up with him, like, a week ago and moved on with some new guy.” Perhaps the worst thing for Paige was for her to realize that Craig was not going to stick up for her or defend their breakup.
Paige’s timeline is important because the Bravosphere isn’t getting the complete and honest story. Craig, who claimed he didn’t want to talk about the breakup, is speaking volumes thanks to his decision to keep quiet. He is painting Paige out to be a scoundrel when she probably wanted the chance to live her own life without being pestered about a move below the Mason-Dixon line.
Paige has said her peace. She ended her explanation by saying, “I think this is the last we need to speak of it,” she concluded. “We broke up almost two months ago. Nothing happened that was nefarious or like cheating. There’s not some big rumor that’s gonna come out. Now, it’s time to f*cking giggle.”
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
