I didn’t have Venita Aspen on my 2025 Southern Charm bingo card as the feminine icon the Bravoverse needed. But here I am about to sing her praises. The influencer joined the cast for Season 7 and has been held in high regard ever since. Not only is Venita fashionable, but she is humble and genuinely seems to care for those around her. Even though Season 10 is going to show her getting her heart broken, V is determined not to let a wayward crush define her. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what I love about her.
Venita Aspen has been honest about her love journey
Needless to say, Venita has been on quite the rollercoaster when it comes to her past relationships. Season 9 showed Venita madly in love with her ex-boyfriend, Manny Houston. She even noted that he had her mother’s seal of approval. But in Episode 5 of the newest Southern Charm season, Venita finally revealed what went wrong in her relationship. While at Craig Conover’s housewarming party, Molly O’Connell asked about the actor. Venita replied, “Did I not tell you? Manny moved to New York. For Broadway.” Producers flashed back to the private conversation between the former couple. Manny was filmed telling an upset Venita, “I feel like we need to have a conversation now about the fact that you keep saying four months. It’s probably going to be longer than that.”
The group was happy about Manny’s Big Apple success, but V said, “Oh no, baby, he’s not coming back.” In her confessional Venita quipped, “I’m here. So, like, one day at a time. My mom’s disappointed. This is the only boy she’s ever liked, and I’ve dated quite a few men.” It wasn’t easy for Venita to open up about her failed relationship, but she showed immense strength in not hiding from her reality.
Venita Aspen isn’t letting JT Thomas get her down
In the January 30 Southern Charm episode, both JT Thomas and Venita expressed their feelings for one another. Everything was going swimmingly until the property developer revealed he had been seeing another girl. Although brokenhearted, Venita isn’t shying away from the fact that she did have real feelings for her co-star. She told People “I always thought that he was very friendly and sweet with me, but then I was just like, ‘Oh, whatever.’ I felt like he was doing that because he had to.” The 31-year-old added, “And then I learned that he was doing that because he actually wanted to, which was nice and refreshing, especially coming from this group.”
It is admirable that Venita still speaks openly about her emotions. As we know most reality TV stars would try to peacock or deny they ever really cared. But not V. The Southern Charm star even hopes that JT shows up to the Season 10 reunion. The duo haven’t spoken since October 2024, and it would be nice for them to get a possible friendship back on track. What I personally love about Venita is she isn’t letting a bout of unrequited love stop her from putting herself out there. She is well aware that she is a good catch, and THAT is attractive.
Venita is the master of her domain
The Southern Charm star waits for no one. Venita is a hero and role model to all women out there who think they need to wait for a love interest to contact them and make plans. In her confessional, Venita noted, “When I’m interested in a guy, I’m not going to wait for him to make the call. I’m going to be the first one to say, ‘Hey, how you doing? So today at 12:30, I expect you to pick me up.’” Her confidence speaks volumes and shows all you have to do is be yourself for someone to gravitate towards you. There is also something to be said about not waiting around for the other person to make the move. Venita is a busy woman with a life to lead and no possible boyfriend is worth the wait.
I love that Venita has changed Southern Charm. There is no doubt in my mind that she has shown fans a new way for a Southern belle to act. For years, V has been an essential part of the group. She has known most of her co-stars for a long time, and now, as a full-time cast member, she is closing a gap thanks to her wonderful insight. As an unsung hero, she has no issues speaking up for herself and can argue her points. Venita is the voice of reason fans need, especially when it comes to relationships that aren’t serving her.
