Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl Performance Hinges on Travis Kelce’s NFL Career — Report

A new report revealed that fans might have to wait longer than expected for Taylor Swift‘s Super Bowl performance, which seemingly hinges on Travis Kelce’s NFL career. An insider close to Swift, who has been dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end for almost two years, told the Daily Mail about her intentions to headline the halftime show following Kendrick Lamar’s massively discussed performance this year. The source mentioned that the megastar will perform after her boyfriend retires for “all her loved ones to be able to experience it.”

Sources say Taylor Swift would rather support Travis Kelce at the game than perform

Sources close to Taylor Swift dished to the Daily Mail about her potential Super Bowl performance, with Travis Kelce’s NFL career holding the key to it. With Swifties anticipating their favorite artist headlining the halftime show and rumors lingering, an insider told the outlet that Swift will only perform after Kelce’s retirement. The source claimed that “she doesn’t want to do it now” until Travis’s retirement, further suggesting that she would rather support him during the match than perform at the halftime show.

The source then dished that the singer “wants all her loved ones to be able to experience it” when she finally performs at the Super Bowl. The individual also explained that the possibility of the Chiefs being in the game persists. Therefore, while Kelce remains in the league, she would want to wait until “he is officially done.” Swift attended Super Bowl 2025 dressed in the colors of her boyfriend’s team, with photos showing her in the stands alongside friends. She was even present at last year’s game.

Previously, Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl performance was a no-go because of her longstanding partnership with Coke. The inside revealed that Pepsi being the official sponsor of the biggest game night of the year “was one glaring reason she was never able to do it.” They added, “If Pepsi wasn’t the sponsor of the halftime show for so many years, then Taylor Swift would have potentially already been the performer.”
