Which Southern Charm Star Would Make the Best Politician?

When it comes to the United States of America, one thing that makes the country so great is we are a democracy. I am not sure what is going on currently, but Americans could rely on the Constitution in the good ‘ol days. We elect our leaders in hopes of making the country a better place for not only just us but those around us. So, I started to think about what would happen if the cast of Southern Charm decided to run for a political position. I must admit I got excited about the prospect. So let’s see who I chose, shall we?

Craig Conover as Head of the EPA

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for managing and enforcing the nation’s environmental laws and regulations. The head honcho is also expected to prepare the annual budget of the agency and lead the U.S. government efforts related to the environment. In my opinion, this would be the perfect job for Craig Conover. He already has a love for everything outdoors, as is often shown by his thriving garden. The man loves indulging in outdoor activities and seems to be a firm believer in the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle program.

Craig is also great at balancing a budget. A recent episode showed him working hard to figure out how much he could offer Austen Kroll for their shared podcast. The Deleware native and lawyer is all about negotiation and isn’t about to spend a penny more than he has to.

Shep Rose as a South Carolina Senator

Generally, the title of Senator is a prestigious one and comes with a hefty term length. When it comes to Shep Rose, I’d like to put the Cowboy Politician term on him. For those who don’t know, the term refers to a trait that some politicians base their service on. Think Theodore Roosevelt, a rough rider. When it comes to diplomacy a resolution of international conflicts could be reached through risk taking. And our boy, Shephard, is quite the risk taker. The Southern Charm star is well-educated and worldly.

These two traits he would need to make one hell of a Senator. He genuinely seems to care about those in his community but would have no problem putting his needs first, with, sadly, many politicians do. Shep, however, is quick as a whip and knows a lot about topics most Americans have left go the way of the Dodo. Think of all the times Shep has quoted Shakespeare or Napoleonic history. I have no doubt this man could woo a room and get legislation passed.

Madison LeCroy as President

“Hail to the Chief. We have chosen for the nation. Hail to the Chief. We salute him one and all.” Well, we would have to change the words a bit for Madison LeCroy, but I’d bet she’d be a benevolent leader. It’s not like we can get much worse. As both the head of state and head of government, Madison would be in charge of putting the best interests of the nation forward. Being a mother, wife, friend, and business owner has inevitably prepared her for this role. She can balance multiple issues at once as well as deal with unruly adult children. Her personal health struggles with her husband would hopefully help her see that the health care system needs an overall. Madison would possibly be the best-dressed president to date.

Austen Kroll as Vice President

Even though they were unlucky in love, Austen and Madison could make for the perfect united front in the White House. The modern job of the Vice President of the United States is to break tie votes in the Senate (which I bet Shep would just love.) Austen would also be expected to lead efforts on particular topics the president wants to focus on and make foreign trips as a high-level emissary. Austen, who loves to socialize and travel, would be perfect for this role. All he has to do is sit there, nod in agreement, and look pretty.

Venita Aspen as Speaker of the House

The Speaker of the House is responsible for administering the oath of office to the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, giving Members permission to speak on the House floor, and counting and declaring all votes. Venita Aspen would be a perfect fit since she is well-respected by everyone. She could hold court without losing her mind with power. Venita has always been known to keep a calm demeanor and would be able to allow everyone to be heard without losing her own voice.
