Why Craig Conover and Salley Carson Could Make a Good Couple

Southern Charm has always been about a group of good-looking friends who, sometimes, decide it is a good decision to date one another. In such a small town and with such a tight-knit group, it is inevitable that Cupid’s arrows ricochet off the Bravolebs. But now that Craig Conover is single and probably ready to mingle, fans think he has his eyes set on newbie Salley Carson. Fans are only getting to know the newbie, but could she be the perfect match for Craig? Here’s why they could actually make a relationship work.

Salley Carson lives in Charleston

Craig dealt with a giant hurdle when dating Paige DeSorbo, thanks to her reluctance to move to Charleston. The East Coast influencer already had her entire life set up in New York City. Paige was extremely close to her family, who she didn’t want to leave. And she loved her independence. All Craig wanted was for his “chicken” to embrace the utopia he created in his own backyard with a few citrus trees and a pool. But even the allure of harvesting her own honey couldn’t convince Paige to pick up her roots.

Salley grew up in the South, Greenville, SC, to be exact, and has strong Southern roots. Unlike Paige, she grew up taking part in traditions like cotillion and coming out as a debutante as a teenager. As an adult, Salley moved to Charleston after landing a job in spinal robotics. She also owns her own home and is a doggie mom to Boots. Salley, who works early morning shifts, is now a happy homebody who loves nothing more than to stay at home and nest. This type of mind frame is just what Craig ordered. The two could happily cook a meal at home and snuggle in for a movie.

Craig Conover is looking for his life partner

All Craig wants is to find someone to love and who will love him back. The task shouldn’t be too challenging, yet Craig keeps coming up with Ls, and his love tank is running on empty. Salley has also had two recent breakups so it could be the perfect time for the duo to connect. Salley resembles Craig’s two ex-girlfriends when it comes to style and beauty. But she is her own woman who could bring a lot of fun to Craig’s life. I think the robotic tech could encourage Craig not to take life as seriously as he has and remind him it’s okay to hang out with friends every once in a while.

However, their passion for their careers is really what will bring them together. Both are all about growing themselves and making sure they are the best at what they do. Furthermore, the duo were recently spotted having dinner at Nobu in the Big Apple. Even JT Thomas entered the rumor sphere as he commented, “makes sense.” Does he know something Southern Charm fans don’t? Perhaps there was flirting during filming.

Craig Conover and Salley Carson might not work

As much as I would love to see another Southern Charm couple take off, I have my reservations. And no, it’s not another date night at Nobu. There is a drastic age difference. Salley is 29, while Craig just celebrated his 36th birthday at the Super Bowl. Paige, who is 32, was better suited age-wise for the former playboy. And even in her 30s, Paige still wasn’t ready to settle down. I question if Salley would think the same way. She is still young and has a lot of life she might want to live before getting into a serious relationship that ends with a walk down the aisle.

The Sewing Down South founder and Salley could have fun together, though. But it might just be that. Two friends who were looking for somebody to have dinner with while in the big city. The reunion will be filmed shortly, and I do not doubt that Andy Cohen will ask a hard-hitting question or two about their friendship. So, hopefully, Southern Charm viewers get a few answers.

Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
