Jax Taylor Hopeful About Coparenting With Brittany Cartwright: ‘It Will Be Great’

Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are still navigating their divorce a year after announcing their separation in 2024. It’s one matter to talk about their relationship, then there is the issue of co-parenting their son, Cruz.

The Valley stars both admitted to working on their relationship when it comes to dealing with their three-year-old child. Most recently, Brittany said that it’s been difficult dealing with Jax, but matters are improving. And the Vanderpump Rules alum seemed to confirm his ex-wife’s statements in a recent interview of his own.

Jax Taylor blames “tough” “schedules” for their co-parenting issues

“It’s day by day right now,” Jax told E! News. “It’s a wound. Going through a divorce is a wound, so we gotta make it heal. And we’re doing good things right now. We’re trying to work it out and hopefully everything goes good.”

Jax shared that logistics are an issue, and both reality TV stars have very full schedules. Yet they are close to one another, with Brittany and Cruz living in the former marital home.

“Schedules right now are tough because we’re both very busy, both got a lot going on,” Jax said. “Once we get that figured out, I think it will be great. I live literally five minutes from her, so we try to help each other out as much as we can. I try to help her out as much as I can. So I do as much as I can do, as much as she allows me.”

Jax was asked for an update on where he stands with Brittany these days. He is focused on reaching “common ground” with her.

“That’s a great question, I would like to know that,” he explained. “It’s day by day right now. We were together for 10 years, married for almost five. So there’s a lot there. Trying to work past this and get to a common ground is my goal.”

Jax said filming Season 2 of The Valley “was the hardest year”

Season 2 of The Valley promises to answer a lot of questions about Jax and Brittany’s demise. There is also curiosity about what their new normal will look like.

“It’s the hardest season of my entire life,” the VPR alum teased. “It was the hardest year of my entire life filming this show. My father’s death was no. 1 for sure, and this took it over.”

During his journey to wellness, Jax entered an in-patient treatment center to work on his mental health. He was motivated to be a better parent to Cruz, and called himself a “work in progress.”

The Valley star is still focusing on the inner work. Entering a new relationship is not a priority.

“Dating is not the thing right now,” Jax concluded.
