Savannah Chrisley Makes Bold Declaration on Parents’ Imprisonment: ‘The Government Will Not Win’

It’s been two years since the Chrisleys got shipped away to prison for their multimillion-dollar fraud scheme. Since then, their daughter Savannah Chrisley has spent every waking moment fighting to get them freed.

Todd Chrisley is behind bars for 12 years while Julie Chrisley got hit with a seven-year sentence. In Savannah’s mind, any second behind bars is too much for this royal family, so she just made a promise to take down the United States government in her family’s fight for freedom.

Savannah, who has fully rebranded into what she calls a “prison reform activist,” spoke to People about her fight to get her parents out from behind bars. According to her, the federal government is making it too difficult for her family to communicate comfortably.

“The Bureau of Prisons says they strive to keep families together. That’s what they love to quote. That is so far from the truth,” Savannah told the outlet.

She continued, “They make it almost impossible for you to communicate with loved ones. They make it almost impossible to visit.”

One of Savannah’s biggest sticking points is that her parents haven’t been able to communicate with each other while they serve their sentences. Apparently, they were expecting some sort of prison-to-prison phone system just for them.

“They don’t get to speak. It’s been two years, and they haven’t spoken a word to each other,” Savannah told the outlet, with the vigor of an irate customer asking to speak to a retail manager.

“They’ve been together almost 30 years, and they’ve never gone a day in their life without being with one another,” she continued. “That’s been a challenge. That should never happen.”

With that in mind, Savannah and the Chrisley family lawyer are begging the President to issue a pardon to both of the Chrisleys. They’ve been loud and proud supporters, so they’re feeling confident that their loyalty will pay off. However, Savannah also said she doesn’t want the government to win.

“It sucks that my parents are going through what they’re going through but we’re going to take this and make something great out of it,” she promised. “And in the end, the government will not win.”
