Big Brother and Survivor have a lot in common. Both series require contestants to be strategic, social, and competitive. While they share similarities, each series has its own unique difficulties. Survivor castaways have limited food and shelter, while Big Brother houseguests must adjust to 24/7 surveillance that captures their every move. I’ve been thinking about the differences between the two series, and pondering which houseguests could make the switch to the other program. Some BB houseguests wouldn’t last a day on the Mamanuca Islands, but others would thrive in the new environment.
Here are Big Brother stars who would kill it on Survivor.
Tucker Des Lauriers – Big Brother 26
Big Brother fan favorite Tucker Des Lauriers feels like a natural fit for Survivor. The Brooklynite dominated BB26, earning a reputation as a competition beast. He was unable to evade eviction on BB, but I think he may fare better on Survivor. He’s extremely athletic and unafraid to take big risks. Two qualities that many Survivor greats possess. I think Tucker was bored on Big Brother and that’s why he made so many risky moves. Survivor is a more challenging environment that may be more suited to his interests. Also, he missed his dog a ton on BB and Survivor is only 26 days!
Danielle Reyes – Big Brother 3, Big Brother 7, and Big Brother: Reindeer Games

Danielle Reyes isn’t doing too hot on The Traitors, but I still believe she would kill it on Survivor. The BB alum has expressed interest in competing on the CBS show.
“I would love to do Survivor,” she said in a February 2025 interview with The Things. “I think that would be fun…To get out there in the jungle, to be funky, eat coconut. Why not?”
She added that her interest isn’t solely about the money, telling the outlet, “You wanna win and everything, be the Sole Survivor, but I would love to play Survivor. I think it’s just the experience alone.”
I know you Traitors fans may not believe me, but Dani actually is quite the mastermind. She’s in her flop era right now but I believe she can redeem herself on Survivor.
Cody Calafiore – Big Brother 16, Big Brother 22, and Big Brother: Reindeer Games

Cody Calafiore is likable, athletic, and adaptable, so naturally, I assume he would be a great castaway. He, like Danielle, sucked on The Traitors. But hey, so did Rob Mariano and Parvati Shallow, so that doesn’t mean much. I think Cody has all the qualities necessary to be successful on Survivor. I could see him racking up Immunity wins and making strong alliances. His BB stats are impressive. He won BB22 with a unanimous vote and made it to the finale in BB16. He clearly knows what he’s doing.
Angela Rummans – Big Brother 20
Angela Rummans proved she is a force to be reckoned with on BB20 and The Challenge USA. She’s one of the most athletic women to appear on BB and I feel confident she would devour the competition on Survivor. She has a reputation as a bit of an ice queen (I personally like that about her) but that may hurt her in a game like Survivor. She may need to kiss a little a*s to earn the title of Sole Survivor, but I have faith in her acting skills. I would love to see her back on TV.
Brendon Villegas – Big Brother 12 and Big Brother 13
Brendon Villegas never failed to make me laugh on Big Brother. Not only is he endlessly entertaining, but he’s a great physical competitor. He saved himself from elimination multiple times by winning crucial competitions.
Brendon branched out from BB to compete on The Amazing Race, so who’s to say he wouldn’t consider starring in another CBS reality show? I think he would be a great addition to the Survivor family.
Da’Vonne Rogers – Big Brother 17, Big Brother 18, and Big Brother 22
Da’Vonne Rogers is a reality TV veteran. She’s appeared on Big Brother, The Challenge, The GOAT, and Ex on the Beach. I think it’s about time she adds Survivor to her resume. The Fan Favorite threw her hat in the ring in a November 2020 interview with Gold Derby, telling the outlet she’s down to compete.
“What I really wanna do is ‘Survivor,’” she said. “I think that’s what I wanna do.”
I think Da’Vonne would be a great castaway. She’s smart, loyal, and fiercely determined to win. BB fans often express disappointment that she never managed to take home a win. Maybe she’ll find more success as a castaway than a houseguest.
Big Brother is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
