After undergoing emergency brain surgery, Teddi Mellencamp thanks the surgeons and the medical team for helping her recover. It’s her first statement about her condition since doctors discovered multiple brain tumors earlier this month, and the entire Bravo community is coming together to rally around the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.
Teddi Mellencamp is feeling “grateful” as she prepares for next steps
“I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable,” Teddi wrote on Instagram earlier this week.
When Teddi’s medical team first discovered the tumors, they planned on removing two of them surgically and treating the rest of them with radiation. However, Teddi shared that they wound up removing four of them during her recent procedure. It was an unexpected turn of events, but Teddi said she’s ready to move forward to the next step in her recovery.
“That fight is not over, but that round has been won,” she said of the recent surgery.
While Teddi prepares for that next treatment phase, she is reflecting on all of the support she’s received. It’s been a painful recovery process, but having people in her corner has kept her strong.
“The laughter, support, and patience of my kids, my family, and my closest friends is one gift with which words cannot properly express my gratitude,” Teddi wrote.
She continued. “As I move on to the next steps in my treatment, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody for the outpouring of love and prayers. I see them, and they’re definitely helping me stay strong.”
Teddi’s post also included a picture of her in the hospital bed with shorn hair before the surgery. She also attached a picture of the CT scan of her brain, highlighting just how large these tumors were.
We’re continuing to send Teddi all of our positive thoughts. Underneath her Instagram post, a sea of Bravolebs shared words of support. Faces from all across the Bravo universe are coming together to show support for Teddi.
“Sending you all the love and strength for a speedy recovery. You are a horse girl and nothing gets a horse girl down,” Angie Katsanevas from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City wrote.
“When you get bucked off you dust those knees off and get back on again,” Angie continued. “You are a strong beautiful woman inside and out. Love you.”
Of course, her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills bestie, Kyle Richards, offered some love in the comments. She has been by Teddi’s side throughout this fight. It’s a relationship that might not have happened if it weren’t for Bravo.
“Teddi, I will forever be grateful to RHOBH for bringing you into my life,” Kyle wrote. “We will always have each other to lean on during life’s ups and downs. You have SO much love around you to help you get through this.”
