Summer House is back for Season 9, with two new cast members. Introduced as a friend of Amanda Batula’s, newbie Lexi Wood quickly made a splash. Between settling scores from last summer and major life announcements, the returning cast already gave viewers lots to discuss. But based on social media reactions, Lexi certainly got Summer House fans talking as well. Here’s why Lexi quickly showed she has the potential to be a perfect Summer House addition.
Summer House newcomer Lexi Wood has a fascinating dating history
Lexi came into this season as a single lady. But before her Summer House debut, Lexi was already in the public eye due to her personal life. In the past few years, she’s been connected to two prominent nepo babies.
Lexi’s first high-profile romance was with Brooklyn Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham. They were spotted kissing back in 2018. At the time, Brooklyn was still publicly linked to actress Chloe Grace Moretz. Although that breakup was announced shortly after the pictures of him and Lexi went viral. But Brooklyn and Lexi never said if they were official.
In 2022, Lexi went Instagram official with Presley Gerber. The son of Cindy Crawford and brother of Kaia Gerber, he is, like Lexi, a successful model. In social media posts announcing their relationship, both Presley and Lexi gushed they were in love. She also appeared on red carpets with his famous family. However, it didn’t last long. They broke up about a month after going public.
Summer House cast members have to deal with public scrutiny over their dating life. Just look at the recent hubbub over Paige DeSorbo’s. So, it’s good that Lexi already has experience with that. Especially considering the sparks that flew between her and a co-star in the premiere.
Lexi and Jesse Solomon hit it off right away
We all know how much Jesse Solomon loves to flirt. Last summer, he raised eyebrows for flirting with both Amanda and Paige, despite their relationship status. And he also made headlines for shooting his shot with other Bravo stars. In the premiere, he even flirted with bestie West Wilson’s ex Ciara Miller.
As soon as she arrived with her friend Bailey, Jesse started flirting up a storm with Lexi. And she returned his energy.
She wasn’t even bothered by his joke/pickup line that her middle name should be “gives me” (get it? Groan). Instead, he flattered his ego by claiming she never heard the joke before. Cut to a confessional, where she admitted, “I’ve heard that joke a thousand times.” Still, she appreciated the dad sense of humor. Also, she added, “I love teeth … and he has a lot of them!”
At dinner that night, Kyle Cook and West commented that they felt like they were witnessing a date. “I can’t stop listening,” Kyle said. The next day, Jesse admitted to both of those guys that he might already be falling in love. Will it be a summer fling or a lasting romance? We’ll have to keep watching to find out.
Lexi has a big and bubbly personality
As Amanda described her, Lexi is “super sweet” and “bubbly.” Amanda continued to say of her friend, “She’s like a puppy, I just want to cuddle her.”
In the premiere, Lexi quickly showed she’s an open book. When Jesse asked what spirit she wanted in her drink, Lexi said that vodka makes her cry. However, she added that might just be because of a bad date experience. She also talked a lot about her horoscope and how it was coming together. Well, sort of. It said she would eat sushi (she called their dinner “close enough”), drink wine, and kiss someone. That sounds like a very specific horoscope, but Lexi was determined to make it come true.
Meanwhile, when talking about the newbies, Jesse described her as ditzy. Which, frankly, was a little rude. Paige countered that she might be “just Canadian.”
When Jesse asked if she considered herself ditzy, Lexi described herself as “free and fun-loving” instead. “I stress all week about work, why would I stress on the weekends?” she added. Fair enough!
Lexi proved she’ll stand up for herself, and did not take Jesse’s rude question without pushing back. She wants to show how “multi-faceted” she is, adding Jesse can’t take advantage of her “just because my laugh goes tee-hee-hee.” In fact, Lexi opened up about finding her confidence on her podcast. And according to her cast bio, she’s passionate about female empowerment. She definitely fits right in with our group of Summer House ladies!
