Bebe Rexha took to TikTok to clap back at the trolls who body-shamed during a recent Instagram Live. In the session, the artist read out loud a hateful comment and said, “Someone said I look like Marilyn Monroe after she ate Lizzo.” After the clips from the live took over social media platforms, Rexha addressed the same in a new TikTok video.
Rexha recalled she did the Instagram Live after “a very long time” following the “amazing charity event” that was “so beautiful.” Upon returning from Dubai, the singer shared that her friends asked her about the clip that was “going viral.” Rexha continued, “So I go look at the clip, read the comments because I’m nosy.” The artist shared her appreciation for the fans who had been “nice” and “supportive” to her before she addressed the situation.
Rexha said, “Number one, I am unbothered,” and added, “Number two, I’m very aware of everything.” The pop icon continued, “I know I gain weight. I know that I’ve been through a lot.” Rexha added, “I know that people know my songs but don’t know me, and I haven’t gotten the recognition I deserved.” However, the singer noted, “But instead of letting that all break me down, it’s actually made me feel more powerful.”
Rexha further revealed that she has been focusing on making new music, and added, “I’ve been putting [it] into my music.” Before ending the clip, she urged fans not to “feel bad” for her and said, “I promise you I feel stronger than ever. And I love you.” Rexha was all about positivity as she wrote in the TikTok video’s caption, “2025 is gonna be different.”
