I never thought I’d be the Southern Charm viewer who felt bad for Shep Rose. But here I am, trying to get over a recent episode, which showed the Playboy being played like a fiddle. For years, Shep has struggled with Peter Pan Syndrome, refusing to grow up and settle down. Fans were excited to hear that Season 10 might show a new side to Shep. But Sadly, that isn’t the way the cookie is crumbling. Instead, fans are witnessing Shep’s heart break right in front of them. And honestly, it’s tragic.
Shep Rose is losing his patience with Sienna Evans
During Episode 10 of Southern Charm, Shep rallied the troops and flew everyone to the Bahamas in order for them to hang out with Sienna Evans. But it was quickly apparent by the third airport phone call that all was not okay in paradise. As a person who was in a long-distance relationship, it surprised me that Sienna wasn’t waiting for her boyfriend at the airport. That move seems pretty easy when you live on a small island, but a big gesture to your partner. Instead, Shep found himself stressed out by the baggage carousel, praying she’d answer her phone. Now, I’ve read He’s Just Not That Into You, and at this point, I just wanted to lend Shep my personal copy.
Shep has never been so vulnerable. I couldn’t help by empathize with the Southern Charm star when he told Austen Kroll, “This is my life, and this is my soul or whatever you wanna call it. And I was just like, ‘You’re playing games here. Like, I should be driving this bus,” he explained. “I’m not trying to rock the boat. I understand that there’s trouble in paradise — no pun intended — but I got quite angry about it.”
Shep Rose had made plans
As a fan, watching Shep mature over the years has been a journey. So I found it particularly depressing when Shep started to realize all the life plans he quickly made with Sienna were not going to materialize. Shep told viewers that he was already thinking of moving to the small island nation and having children. Even though he might be putting his buggy before the horse, it was evident Shep had fallen hard for the beauty queen. And honestly, who hasn’t felt just like this at one point in their life? “She was supposed to come with my whole family to Italy, and we were gonna go see Coldplay in Milan and then go meet my family in Positano. Is that not a relationship? I mean, who does that? Who makes that plan?” Shep asked.
If you ask me, I don’t think Shep has been happier than when he was with Taylor Ann Green. For three years, he was settled down with a woman who truly loved him. After the breakup, he found himself out of sorts and jumped into the quickest relationship. While us mortals call this a rebound, Shep really seemed to think he had found his soulmate. Sadly, Sienna was dropping bread crumbs left and right.
Sienna Evans played Shep Rose
She traveled to Cuba and South Africa, choosing not to call Shep during either trip. And Season 10 shows her literally fleeing from the bedroom as Shep had hoped for at least a hello kiss. At that moment, it was pretty apparent that Sienna was not that interested and was most likely using Shep. I can only assume the words of Whitney Sudler Smith regarding her going after him first were playing in his head on repeat. In December, shortly before the premiere of Southern Charm, Bravo viewers learned that Sienna had been using Shep for her own gains.
Madison LeCroy and Venita Aspen spoke with E! Noting the forever bachelor seemingly fell in love too quickly and under false pretenses. Venita told the outlet, “I think it was really sad to see a fan use him because I think Shep was actually in love with her.” The influencer added “And this is the first time we see Shep in love, and she just used him.” The fashionista shared, “It was a joke. There’s a whole TikTok of her actual boyfriend floating around on the internet. She had a boyfriend that she decided to post after we were done filming.”
No one likes to watch their heart break into a million pieces. But I hope for Shep’s sake he gets back up on that horse.
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
