While most of us took down our holiday decor months ago, Kathy Hilton is special. Even though we’re approaching Spring, the “friend of” on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills still has her Christmas tree up.
We all know Kathy loves Christmas. The Christmas party she hosts for friends, family, and various celebrities is legendary. Even her feuding family members make peace at Christmas.
I get it. The world is in a bleak place right now. If Kathy needs a little extra sparkle in her life, who are we to judge?
Kathy Hilton remains in Christmas mode
“Happy Oscar Sunday!” Kathy greets us cheerfully in the Instagram video she posted on March 3. “I’m all dressed up and ready to go and celebrate all of the winners. And I’m very excited.”
Right behind her is a fully decorated Christmas tree. Stockings still hang on the mantle, and the fireplace is covered in sparkly holiday decorations. Stuffed Christmas plushies surround the bottom of the tree. It’s very festive. At this point, she might as well just leave everything up for next year’s DIRECTV-sponsored holiday party.
Off-camera, one of her two daughters (Paris?) asks the obvious question. “Mom, it’s March 2,” she says. “Why is your tree still up?”
Kathy looks over her shoulder as if she’s only just now noticed the festive tree in the corner. “Cookie,” she responds, “every day’s a holiday. You know I love to celebrate.”
In the comments section, we learn that Kathy’s not the only one reluctant to let go of the yule season. One fan wrote, “It’s okay Kathy just took ours down this weekend.”
Another commented, “My tree is still up! I thought I was the only one.”
While another added, “My tree is still up too I don’t feel bad now that queen Kathy has hers up.”
I have a confession to make. I have a collection of light-up Christmas houses that cover eight small tables in my house during the holidays. It takes so long to set them all up and arrange their little villages that I hate taking them down. Plus they’re just so cozy. And my son loves the Christmas tree (don’t say “awwwww;” he’s 24). We only finally took everything down about a week ago.
