Real Housewives of Orange County’s Shannon Beador will likely have a much easier time with Season 19’s friend-of/show alum, Gretchen Rossi.
Last season, Shannon went through it. In the wake of her DUI arrest, she also had to contend with former orange-holder-turned-friend-of, Alexis Bellino – who shacked up with Shannon’s litigious ex, John Janssen.
Alexis was not asked back. However, Gretchen will be stepping in, and it doesn’t seem that Shannon will have to worry about her much.
Shannon Beador says she’s excited for Gretchen Rossi’s return
Shannon sat down with Us Weekly while promoting the upcoming Wives on the Waves cruise she’ll be whooping it up on.
Shannon only had positive things to say when asked about Gretchen’s return. “I’m excited about it, and she’s very kind,” she began. “She’s been nothing but sweet to me, so I think she’s going to be a great addition.”
Shannon also shared that filming for the new season is already getting interesting. “We just finished week three — and the drama’s already starting,” she teased.
In January, it was confirmed that Gretchen would be back as an RHOC friend, following Alexis’ announcement that she wouldn’t be returning for the season.
Season 18 wasn’t exactly smooth sailing for Shannon. She emotionally dealt with the fallout from her arrest and had plenty of tension with Alexis. This also caused a bit of a chasm in the friend group.
Dolores Catania and Teresa Giudice, stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, also sat in on the interview since they’ll also be Wives on Waves guests. They praised Shannon for how she handled everything. “This will be a breeze for you this year,” Dolores assured her. “You were good. You handled it.”
Dolores and Teresa even joked about stepping in to back Shannon up on RHOC. “I wanted to come on [RHOC] and fight,” Dolores said, while Teresa added, “Me and Teresa were ready to make a cameo.”
One person who probably won’t be as welcoming to Gretchen? Tamra Judge. The two were at odds for much of Gretchen’s run on RHOC Seasons 4-8. Can we get a messy cast trip to Bass Lake?
