Hannah Berner and Kyle Cooke’s years-long feud continues. The former co-stars had a falling out during Season 5 of Summer House, which resulted in Hannah leaving the show and being disinvited from Kyle’s wedding. The two never managed to repair their fractured friendship with both parties continuing to throw digs at each other in interviews. It’s been years since the drama went down, so fans were shocked to see the feud resurface in Season 9 of Summer House.
On Season 9, Episode 3, Paige DeSorbo revealed that Kyle “rage texted” after Hannah spoke about him on a podcast. Kyle’s outburst surprised viewers, especially since the two are no longer in each other’s lives.
If you are a newer viewer of Summer House, you may be confused by Kyle’s sudden burst of anger. If you need a refresher on the Kyle vs. Hannah lore, don’t worry, I got you.
Here is everything you need to know and Kyle and Hannah’s feud.
The feud begins: Kyle coins the term “giggly squad”
Kyle was growing tired of Hannah and Paige’s laid-back lifestyle in Season 4 of Summer House. He openly criticized the newer cast members, accusing them of not pulling their weight when it came to shared household responsibilities like cleaning and doing the dishes.
Kyle’s annoyance boiled over into rage one evening at dinner, sparked by Hannah and Paige’s loud side conversation while he and Amanda Batula were venting about wedding planning struggles. The Loverboy Founder felt that the side conversation was “disrespectful” and referred to the pair as “the giggly squad.” At the time, Hannah and Paige dismissed the comment but they got their revenge when they launched their podcast “The Giggly Squad,” which has become a huge success in the comedy podcast space. Good for them.
Kyle’s frustration grows on Season 5 of Summer House

Kyle’s dislike of Hannah escalated in Season 5 of Summer House. The two were like oil and water, fighting over the smallest things like Hannah’s lack of enthusiasm for household chores. The tension came to a head when Hannah’s man, comedian Des Bishop, came to visit the house. The couple made a joke about having sex in Kyle and Amanda’s bathroom, which did not go over so well. Kyle and Amanda did not find the joke funny and were angry at the couple for disrespecting their space.
Hannah opened up about the incident in an April 2021 interview with Us Weekly, telling the outlet she didn’t understand her co-stars’ reaction.
“When is sex on Summer House considered this disgusting thing?” she asked. “They’re acting like I murdered someone.”
Kyle and Amanda disinvite Hannah from their wedding

Fans were sad to see Hannah not present at Kyle and Amanda’s September 2021 wedding. Amanda spoke about her decision to retract Hannah’s invite in an interview with Us Weekly, telling the publication she didn’t think Hannah wanted to come.
“I keep hearing things where, like, she wants to go and she doesn’t want to go,” she shared. “I want people to want to be at my wedding on that day. Weddings are expensive. I’m not going to pay for your food if you’re like, ‘Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t want to go.’”
Hannah reveals why she and Kyle had a falling out
On Summer House, Kyle said the reason for his fallout with Hannah was because he didn’t like the way she treated Amanda. However, Hannah offered a different explanation during a July 2024 appearance on the Barstool podcast BFFs.
“The truth is beef started ’cause I did an ad for Truly Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” she said. “I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks.”
The former Bravo star said the network did not fire her, clarifying she left because “some people on the cast got annoyed at [her].”
“I think some of these shows become a lot of egos,” she said. “And it’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that.’ And there’s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons.”
Hannah’s comments led fans to believe Kyle had a role in Hannah leaving the show. He shot down the speculation in an interview with Page Six, telling the outlet “There’s no truth to it.”
Kyle says Hannah’s comments on podcasts led to the fallout

Kyle also spoke about his falling out with Hannah in a 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight. He basically told the publication that Hannah’s many public appearances caused drama among the cast.
“I think part of the challenge was just when you film with someone that’s constantly podcasting and constantly on other people’s podcasts, for better, for worse, the pot gets stirred,” he shared.
“A lot of sh*t was talked prior to leading up to the summer, and it wasn’t just about me. It was about almost everybody in the house.” Amanda added.
Summer House can be streamed on Peacock.
