Tom Sandoval Explains Why He Was Furiously Eating on The Traitors Season 3

In Season 3 of The Traitors, Tom Sandoval couldn’t do anything without getting criticism. From his past on Vanderpump Rules to his sweaty pits, he caught hell in every direction. Even his eating habits got picked apart!

At one point, Bob Harper scolded him on camera about how much he was eating. It was like watching The Biggest Loser all over again, but it turns out, Tom’s eating wasn’t as dramatic as it looked. There was actually a little bit of strategy to it.

After Tom’s murder in The Traitors Season 3, Episode 10, he spoke to Bravo’s The Daily Dish during an exit interview. He explained how the viewers at home aren’t privy to a lot of action that happens in the castle.

“Surprisingly, we don’t have a ton of time where we can actually go and discuss and talk to people about gameplay,” Tom explained. “Because when we’re not filming that stuff, we cannot talk about any of that. They separate us.”

According to Tom, that’s why it always looked like he was eating so much food. He was just trying to scarf it down so he could get back to sussing out Traitors. He was a man with a plan.

“That’s one of the reasons why I was eating so fast,” he told the outlet. “I’m like, ‘I’ve got to eat real quick and get to work!'”

You have to give him props for staying dedicated, and for the most part, it paid off. He led the charge in getting Boston Rob Mariano banished from the game. He saved the day during the creepy doll challenge in Episode 8. As much as people like to clown him, Sandoval didn’t do so badly in the castle.

The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
