Top Chef Season 22 is just around the corner, and there are some major changes afoot. We are finally going international with the show filming in Canada. Who can resist fancy versions of poutine or creative ways to use maple syrup? And with this big change comes another one. A generous new prize package for the cheftestants. So, how much will they be getting?
Top Chef has upped the ante with a $250,000 grand prize and so much more
Not only are the chefs battling it out for the first time ever in Canada, but they’ll be taking down a generous prize package too. Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported the details of what the winner will take home.
The Season 22 winner will get “the largest grand prize package in Top Chef history.” Drumroll, please! They will win “the grand prize of $250,000 provided by Saratoga Spring Water, the official water of Top Chef; Delta SkyMiles Diamond Medallion Status, and a $125,000 flight credit to spend on travel with Delta Air Lines.”
With all that cash and luxury travel at stake, you know everyone is going to bring their A-game. There’s still the classic prize of a “feature in Food & Wine magazine plus an appearance at the annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.”
Last season, the chefs got to win money for the various challenges as well. And that has carried over. The cheftestants can “win a cash prize at every Quickfire Challenge and select Elimination Challenges with more than $150,000 in total up for grabs.”
If that weren’t enough, “for the first time ever,” the winner will have their very own “exclusive dinner” at the James Beard House in New York. They’ll also get to practice their best Kristen Kish and be able to present at The James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards.
There will also be new twists and turns, such as updating the infamous Restaurant Wars challenge. We are so ready.
