Why Denise Richards & Her Wild Things Just Works

I want to be a part of anything Denise Richards is in. The same goes for her newest series, Why Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. The series is jovial, witty, and downright enjoyable. The actor and her family were made to be on TV, as something about the show just works so perfectly.

Denise Richards knows family tensions

Raising three teenage daughters isn’t a walk in the park. But Denise is way more open about her mothering struggles than I expected. Daughters Sammi Sheen and Lola Sheen, are at one another’s throats over a boy. During the premiere of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, the Bond girl tried her best to bring her family together by throwing an old-fashioned BBQ. Firstly, who knew that Malibu had such strict rules about picnics? Denise has a laundry list of what she was and wasn’t allowed, including no balloons. But Denise persevered and found bamboo plates – yippie!

However, the friction between the two sisters should have been a genuine concern. Sammi felt slighted that her younger sister didn’t cut off all communication with her ex-boyfriend because, as Lola sees it they were friends first. Both sisters felt that their mother took one another’s side, but all Denise, like any mom, wants is for their children to mend their relationships. Perhaps the most genuine interaction came from Denise when she scolded Sammi, saying, “Don’t call her dude, she’s your sister.” Never mind that the more significant concern here wasn’t Sammi calling her sister a b*tch.

Denise Richards won me over with puppies

“I love you like crazy” was all I needed to hear from Denise regarding her not one but three golden retriever puppies. The origin story of her dogs is even funnier. It turns out that Lola Sheen bought a puppy named Bear. Aaron Phypers and Denise then learned there was a sister available and didn’t want to separate them. And there was a brother with the sister. “We can’t separate the brother from the sister from the other brother,” noted Denise. “Then they called and said another sister came back because someone was allergic to her. So we have all the siblings together.” Honestly, this woman is doing God’s work and I think I love her even more.

Denise is also hoping to train one of the three puppies to be a service dog for her youngest daughter. The idea was thoughtful and moved me as she told Eloise Richards, “One of them is going to be your best friend.” Production couldn’t help themselves when it came to Denise’s obsession with her fur babies. While the trainer urged Denise to be firm, the moment the three pups were stuffed into the back seat, it was obvious these doggies would be spoiled. Needless to say, Denise and her excitement were off the chart. Just on the drive home alone, she noted her feelings 11 times. But honestly, who wouldn’t be thrilled to have those three cuties as fur babies?

Denise Richards is just down to earth

What I loved about Denise Richards & Her Wild Things is the simple fact that Denise is real. She isn’t dealing with catty women on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and is finally able to be herself. Now, fans are seeing exactly what she goes through. This includes family drama, interacting with Charlie Sheen, and continuing her acting career. Personally, I am here for the new series and find I am loyal to Denise as a reality TV star. The mother of three’s sense of humor shines through, and this trait is the it factor. She didn’t want to be on RHOBH, so she made the BH ladies come to her. That’s Queen behaviour.

Most viewers will fall in love with Denise and find themselves rooting for her to win every single time she takes on a challenge. I’m excited for the chaos that Denise Richards & Her Wild Things will bring to my small screen. And if the premiere was an indication, viewers will be laughing for the entire season. The series is light, easygoing, and just what we need from Denise. So, in the queen’s immortal words, “Thank you. You’re welcome.”

Denise Richards & Her Wild Things premieres on March 4 at 9/8c on Bravo.
