Millie Bobby Brown Is All for Taylor Swift’s Album Curation Skills

Ahead of the Netflix premiere of “The Electric State” on March 14, Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt steered a playful banter about Taylor Swift’s music-making process, with Brown defending the musician with all her might. The banter was part of the movie’s promotional video that Netflix and Pratt posted on Instagram.

In the video, the co-stars compared the 90s to the modern generation. While they tested different devices from the two eras, things heated up when music entered the conversation.

Millie Bobby Brown educates Chris Pratt on Taylor Swift’s album-making process

Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt were featured in a promotional video for “The Electric State.” In light of the movie’s plot set in the 90s, the interaction was a playful take on “Who had it better,” as Brown said in the video, comparing teenagers in the 90s to modern-day youngsters.

Being a 90s teen, Pratt defended the decade, while Brown stuck to her modern roots, advocating for iPhone selfies and SD Cards over camcorders and VHS tapes with cassette openers. However, things took a serious turn after they discussed music and Pratt flaunted a Walkman. While Brown found the gadget “cool” and said she would “use this now,” she changed quickly her mind after learning that one had to fast forward through a song to get to another one.

“That’s horrible,” Brown declared dramatically. However, Pratt defended the old-school way, explaining “There was once a time where artists who made tapes, they curated their music into a very intentional list.” Brown promptly shut him down, unleashing her inner Swiftie. She passionately argued, “That’s not true, Chris,” continuing dramatically, “Taylor Swift curates her album from start to finish.”

Pratt did not waver, stating how listeners using streaming platforms could put a playlist on shuffle. Brown, too, stood her ground as she countered how “a true Swiftie wouldn’t” do that. The star ended the argument by declaring, “You don’t understand.”

This was not the first instance where Brown publicly gushed about Swift. As Billboard noted, the “Stranger Things” star claimed to be a “hardcore Swiftie” on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2024. She had then explained how she flew to Ohio solely to experience the Eras tour.

Additionally, she described the tour as “the most amazing experience,” claiming she “collapsed to the ground” when Swift played Evermore. In hindsight, it is unsurprising that Millie Bobby Brown took one for the team when Chris Pratt laid a finger on Taylor Swift’s music-making process.
