Watching Shep Rose throw his heart into the wrestling ring known as courtship has been torture for viewers. Since Southern Charm first aired, the playboy of Charleston has been a man about town, refusing to settle down. But there was something about the Miss Bahamas winner, probably that fact that she was 26 years old, that caught the Bravoleb’s eye. Season 10 shows Sienna Evans not in the most flattering light, but is she the scapegoat instead of the villain? I think so
Love is fickle on Southern Charm
Southern Charm Season 10 is showing viewers that love is a battlefield. Shep has fallen head over heels and doesn’t exactly know what to do with himself. Sienna first walked onto the scene during an episode when the dogs were having a Dolly Parton-themed birthday party. She met the group and, for the most part, seemed nice. I’ll admit there was something a bit off about her. But as the season went on I think it was the fact that Sienna didn’t seem extremely comfortable around Shep.
Even though he was ready to move to the island and have babies, Sienna acted casual about their courtship. Fans soon learned she had traveled to Cuba and South Africa, forgetting to keep Shep up to date on her plans. And the latest episode showed Sienna coming off as cold. And faking a tummy bug to get out of spending the night at the hotel with the reality star. The cameras have started to paint a picture of Sienna as the evil temptress. But I don’t think fans have been given all the facts. What we do know is Shep was coming in hot. And in this love game, I’m starting to think both parties were in the wrong.
Sienna Evans is speaking out
It turns out Sienna has her “guard up” when meeting Craig Conover. And she was extremely “apprehensive” when it came to filming this season of Southern Charm. Before the cast trip to the Bahamas, Shep claimed he was constantly being ignored by Sienna. It probably didn’t help that Whitney Sudler-Smith also claimed Sienna had reached out to him on Raya first. This move led many to believe that Sienna was just an extreme fan of the show, trying to get her 15 minutes of fame. But Sienna isn’t about to be turned into the evil stepmother of this Bravo franchise. While on the Bravo & Blaze podcast, she started to take back her narrative.
The beauty queen revealed that she had only met up with Shep “like six or seven times” during the course of their relationship. “We had never defined our relationship to say … ‘you are my girlfriend and I’m your boyfriend and we are going to be exclusively seeing each other,’” she stated. “I didn’t really expect for there to be so much coverage of our relationship and I didn’t think it was going to be that big of a topic. I was very shocked by that.”
Did Sienne Evans break promises?
Sienna then brought up the cast trip and claimed by Shep that she had said she would stay with him while on the island. Sienna noted, “I just became very apprehensive about filming because … I’m someone who really values my privacy, and so I really wanted to have a conversation and talk about what do I deem as appropriate.” She was hinting at the scene where Shep wanted help picking out an outfit as he told the rest of the cast to go to dinner early. Sienna added, “And what I wanted to be filmed. I don’t want to be on television kissing someone that I’m not married to or any suggestive scenes.”
Personally, I don’t believe Sienna is being unreasonable, yet the storyline has made it seem like she was a tease. The island beauty added, “When we were plotting the trip, I wanted to spend time with him. I wanted to spend time with the group and the cast … they were my friends.” The duo broke up after the cast trip. Sienna told listeners, “I just wish that … we had taken it a little slower. I don’t think that he’s interested in seeing me anymore [after] the way that things ended.”
Southern Charm is available to stream on Peacock.
