90 Day Fiancé Season 11 is finally here and so are a handful of new couples. Among them are Stevi and Mahdi, who were introduced to viewers during the first two episodes. Stevi is a Southern girl from Mississippi, whereas Mahdi hails from Tehran, Iran. Season 11 just started, but Stevi and Mahdi are already our favorite couple so far. Here’s why!
Stevi and Mahdi have a unique story
While all 90 Day Fiancé couples have interesting stories, Stevi and Mahdi have one of the most unique stories in franchise history. Stevi picked up a second job as an online English teacher, to help international students improve their speaking skills. Mahdi was one of her most prepared students, as he always came with a list of questions to ask Lee. After they finished their lessons, Stevi and Mahdi kept in touch and began to form a real connection.
Eventually, the couple decided to meet in Turkey. Since Mahdi is from Iran, Stevi didn’t feel that she could travel there due to the current political landscape. While Stevi and Mahdi only spent a week in person together, they knew that they were soulmates. Mahdi asked Stevi to marry him, and she happily accepted.
Stevi and Mahdi’s story is special, as it’s truly something that happened by chance. Fate brought these two together in a random way, which ended up leading to an engagement. It’s crazy how life works sometimes!
Stevi and Mahdi are serious about one another
While the majority of 90 Day Fiancé couples are serious about their relationships, this has an entirely different meaning for Stevi and Mahdi. Mahdi is the first 90 Day Fiancé cast member from Iran, which is somewhat of a complicated country. As Stevi explained during the premiere, Iran doesn’t have the best relationship with the United States. This leads to some complexities with Mahdi’s visa situation. He had to leave suddenly to make sure he’d be able to.
Unfortunately, Mahdi’s situation was much more complicated than having to leave Iran quickly. Mahdi knew that going to the US could very well mean he’d never be able to return to Iran. This means that he may never be able to see his family and friends again, which is pretty heavy. On the flip side, this shows how serious he is about his relationship with Stevi. No one would leave everything behind if they weren’t serious about the person they were going to be with. Mahdi’s situation shows just how dedicated he is to Stevi and building a life with her.
On the other hand, Stevi is just as serious about Mahdi. During the premiere, Stevi struggled to tell her father that she was engaged to a man she had only met for a week. Stevi’s dad is currently ill, and she was worried that she would upset him with the news. Again, this isn’t something someone would do if they weren’t entirely dedicated to their fiancé. I’m really rooting for these two.
Stevi and Mahdi are both fun to watch as individuals
Apart from their storyline as a couple, Stevi and Mahdi are also enjoyable to watch individually. Viewers learned a lot about Stevi during the premiere, including her background as a painter. Stevi is a creative girl with Southern charm, so what’s not to love about her? She’s also very family-oriented and has close relationships with her entire family, but especially her dad.
Mahdi, on the other hand, was introduced during the second episode. It was clear from the jump that Mahdi is extremely intelligent, as he speaks English like a native speaker. Along with Armando Rubio, Mahdi has to have the best English I’ve ever seen from an international cast member from a non-English speaking country. Mahdi is also very kind and easy-going, which makes him even more enjoyable to watch. It’s hard not to feel for Mahdi, but his strength in the tough situation he’s in is admirable.
Many 90 Day Fiancé couples often consist of a fan favorite and a cast member fans find frustrating. It’s rare to find a couple with two individuals that viewers come to equally adore. I may be speaking too soon, but Stevi and Mahdi have the potential to be one of the best couples in 90 Day Fiancé history.
