The trailer for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 just dropped. Within, we caught glimpses of our newest messy Mormon, Miranda Hope, AKA Miranda McWhorter. Miranda is a new name for us, but not for the other ladies on this cast.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives series centers around a genuine group of dancing women, complete with Stanley cups and designer yoga fits, all living around Salt Lake City, Utah. These online stars are best known for their tagged MomTok reels and subsequent swinging scandal on TikTok. We met several members of this group in Season 1. However, we failed to meet Miranda, a founding member of MomTok.

But who is Miranda? Why did she change her name? And what can we expect to see from her during Season 2 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? We will tell you everything we know about Miranda McWhorter turned Hope now (after we finish saying her formerly married government name roughly one million times first, for fun).

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 trailer reveals new cast member Miranda Hope aka Miranda McWhorter

If you have not yet watched the trailer for Season 2 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, do so now. But first, let us recap the MomTok swinging scandal that these women heavily discussed in Season 1.

This docuseries initially followed the lives of eight Mormon influencers who found fame on TikTok in 2020. Online, these women primarily danced, utilizing the hashtag “MomTok” on their reels. As their fanbase grew, one of the members, Taylor Frankie Paul, broke the fourth wall, announcing her divorce from her then-husband, Tate Paul. She also revealed that they were into soft-swinging, noting that she was not the only one in their community who fancied this practice.

Immediately, their audience began speculating, wondering who else might be a swinger in this group. This buzz led to their reality television series on Hulu, but as we learned, Taylor was the only swinger involved in this scandal on the cast. However, as the trailer for Season 2 teases, Miranda is (or was) also a swinger.

In the trailer, a good-time-looking cowgirl appears. As she struts towards the cast, the other ladies ask, “Wait. Is that Miranda?” Then, Demi Engemann reveals, “That’s the girl [who] was swinging with Taylor.”

Oop. In Season 1, this cast moved past the swinging storyline. But something tells us that Miranda might revive this mess in Season 2, which, here for it.

What is Miranda McWhorter’s history with Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ cast?

Miranda recently divorced her husband of seven years, Chase McWhorter, hence her new last name of Hope. Before their split, Miranda and her ex got involved in the swinging scandal. They denied this claim for a while, but Chase eventually folded, telling Us Weekly that their free-loving group started during COVID. Initially, their gatherings included games like Spin the Bottle, but things became slightly wilder with time.

Chase also stressed that he and Miranda were shocked to learn that Taylor broke the rules of soft-swinging, as she entertained a full-blown affair with one of the other husbands in their tightly-knit group. The first rule of fight club soft-swinging is to avoid feelings and fully-blown sexual relations. Therefore, Chase described this reveal as feeling “like a nuclear bomb [got] dropped” on the group.

As a founding member of MomTok, Miranda knows the cast of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives well. Yet, we still combed through her socials to see if we could find anything shady to report on. Thankfully, dramatic showings were not on display today, as Miranda remains friendly with Taylor, Demi, Jen Affleck, Whitney Leavitt, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mayci Neeley, Layla Taylor, and Mikayla Matthews.

On TikTok, Miranda shared a reel of herself watching Season 1. In the comments, many members of this cast clocked in, laughing in support of Miranda. As an OG MomToker, Miranda fits into this series with ease.

Last October, this cast went on TikTok, as they do, announcing that Hulu gave them the green light for a Season 2. But what can we expect to see in this follow-up ride through the snow-capped mountains of Utah? Messiness is the only answer.

As the lyrics sang Come ye saints and come ye sinners, our tails sat, taking in the drama. As an aside, the theme song for Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Secret Temptation, was created solely for this series, so, fun fact.

Jen and her husband, Zac Affleck, are expecting. Their marriage was shaky in Season 1, so they threw a baby on it to see if that might help. But, as the Season 2 trailer teases, Zac has some explaining to do since he appears on her doorstep with a bouquet.

So does Whitney. Whitney exited the MomTok chat following Season 1. But Whitney is back for Season 2, talking about the cast holding grudges in the trailer.

Then we have Demi and her husband, Bret Engemann. Bret is a longtime reality television star, but as he is 17 years older than Demi, eyebrows often raise in their direction. The verdict is out on how they will fare in Season 2, but as Demi narrates at the end of the trailer, “Honestly, the show must go on.”

Meanwhile, Taylor is still arguing with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, which the trailer clocks. At some point, police will enter the chat (again), as two men will come to blows during Season 2 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Hopefully, MomTok will survive.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu.
