George Clooney Flaunts New Hair That Wife Amal ‘Will Hate’

George Clooney’s new hair color is so different from his signature silver look that he was confident his wife, Amal Clooney, would “hate” it. In February, Clooney told The New York Times that he was sure this hair transformation for his Broadway debut role in “Good Night, and Good Luck” wouldn’t please Amal. A month later, on Tuesday, the actor appeared in public to meet fans and flaunt his makeover before taking the stage for his performance as journalist Edward R. Murrow in “Good Night, and Good Luck,” a play which is an adaptation of his movie of the same name.

George Clooney on ditching his iconic silver hair: ‘My wife is going to hate it’

George Clooney is finally showing off his new hair color after ditching his iconic silver look for an upcoming Broadway role. Just days before taking the stage for his debut performance in “Good Night, and Good Luck,” Clooney stepped out in New York City to give fans a closer look at his hair transformation, something his wife Amal and children disapproved of. “My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,” he admitted to The New York Times last month, adding his kids would “just laugh at me nonstop.”

The actor will play his first-ever Broadway role at NYC’s Winter Garden Theatre on the play’s opening night on April 3. Just before its preview on Wednesday, he met up with fans in the city, putting his fresh brunette hair on display for the first time since revealing the look. In addition to donning the new hairdo, Clooney wore a black turtleneck zip-up jacket with grey pants and a pair of classic Adidas sneakers in photographs shared by Page Six. The New York Times also reported that he started smoking to fully grasp his character for the role.
