Bethenny Frankel is back on the market (we think?!). But she’s trying the dating thing differently, on the heels of her split with Paul Bernon, And that means keeping things on the down low and trying to give the “wine time to breathe.”
The Real Housewives of New York alum talked a bit about her dating life on Alix Earle’s Hot Mess podcast. She also talked about how she’s trying a new approach and the type of guys she enjoys going out with.
Bethenny Frankel dating again after Paul Bernon breakup?
“I am dating,” Bethenny told Alix. “I have always, sort of, wanted to know exactly what everything is, and I’m trying to let the wine breathe more vs. needing to know what it is.”
She explained what she meant by adding, “Like, what the label is or that (if) I’m getting married.”
That seems like a departure for Bethenny who always wants to be in control of things and know exactly what’s happening. She certainly does seem to be trying to be more chill recently. When she got locked in the bathroom during a recent Super Bowl party, she just laughed it off instead of freaking out.
And this calmness seems to be the approach she’s taking to single life since calling off the engagement with Paul last year after six years together.
“I’ve been dating,” Bethenny explained. “I don’t know what it was like when you started dating and you were public. People think that just because you’re photographed with one person all of sudden you are married again or engaged again.”
Could that be why she was being cagey a bit and not talking about her presumed boyfriend Tom Villante?
The former RHONY star said she’s now trying to keep her love life on the down-low. She also explained how difficult it is to date as a successful entrepreneur.
“What I run into is extremely successful men that by anybody’s standards are very wealthy, successful, and smart,” she said. “But when they meet someone like me, they start to question their own business. How successful they are. It will be intimidating. It just will on some level.”
She admits to dumbing herself down in certain situations. “I don’t want them to feel bad,” the SkinnyGirl founder shared. “It’s nice to date someone who’s not even in the same business. So, it doesn’t feel adjacent or competitive.”
