Love Island alum Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is not a fan of Meghan Markle. Nevertheless, Meghan is still thriving via her new series on Netflix. She also has several other acting credits underneath her belt. But if you ask Ekin-Su, Netflix missed the mark on With Love, Meghan. They should have given this opportunity to her instead, Ekin-Su jokes.
Meghan Markle’s Netflix show was a “wasted” opportunity, says Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu
Ekin-Su recently appeared on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast. Here, the hosts asked Ekin-Su about her opinions on With Love, Meghan, noting that this series has received heavily mixed reviews. “All I can say is, what a wasted Netflix documentary! [They] could’ve given it to me,” Ekin-Su answered.
Ekin-Su owned her love for the people in the palace, saying, “I’m a huge royal family [fan], so I will back the royals, but I don’t know about the documentary myself. [I’m unsure if] it’s done well, so I don’t want to say much. [But], I’m not a huge fan.”
After clarifying that she is equally joking and serious, Ekin-Su revealed that she has yet to watch this series. However, she has “seen stuff” that has felt “weird” and “confusing,” like when Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling for calling her a “Markle” and not a “Sussex.” “I don’t know if that [statement] was the right choice,” Ekin-Su stressed.
Ekin-Su also questioned Netflix’s “end goal” about “what they wanted to bring out” from this series. “Like, we know how to cook,” Ekin-Su persisted, quipping, “She (Meghan) loves the TV.” So, perhaps Meghan does belong on our screens. But maybe via another vessel, Ekin-Su next suggested.
“She’s a very good actress! She should do Suits again – Suits Two. I would love to watch that. She was very good. I’d watch that,” Ekin-Su emphasized.
But Meghan will not be taking her advice (for now). Instead, Meghan is launching a new podcast to help empower women with their budding businesses.
