Tate McRae Dismisses Selena Gomez Shade Rumors

Tate McRae recently debunked the rumors swirling on social media platforms about her throwing shade on Selena Gomez. On March 22, the Canadian singer took to Instagram to post a story with a motivational message. It read, “Caring is cool. Trying is cool. Nothing is embarrassing. Live ur life.”

The story sparked rumors after fans speculated that McRae’s message could be a response to the lyrics of Gomez’s new song, “How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten”, specifically the lines, “You’re so embarrassing/Go cry when no one’s watchin’.” However, McRae dismissed the rumors by sharing another Instagram Story, clearing the air in the process.

Tate McRae shuts down rumors of her shading Selena Gomez after viral TikTok

A video claiming that fans allegedly think the motivational quote shared by Tate McRae on Instagram Story could be a possible dig at Selena Gomez’s “How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten” song lyrics went viral on TikTok. The clip also pointed out that the singer has been a part of Haliey’s brand Rhode Skin’s new ad campaign. It further noted that both McRae and Hailey’s husband and singer Justin Bieber are Canadians.

The TikTok video thus indicated a strong connection between Tate McRae, Hailey Bieber, and Justin Bieber, trying to show it as a reason for the singer to clap back at Selena Gomez, who is Justin’s ex. Since then, rumors started to spread about the singer shading Gomez for the lyrics.

However, McRae dismissed the rumors by recently posting another story on Instagram. The hazy photo showed the singer breathing through an oxygen mask. In the caption, McRae wrote, “Guys omg that was just a random motivational quote not directed at anybody,” referring to her earlier Instagram Story. The artist continued, “Logged onto TikTok so confused lol.” She concluded by saying, “ONLY LOVE HERE.”
