Teddi Mellencamp isn’t holding back on living life amid her cancer battle. And that includes jumping into the dating pool. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and her husband of thirteen years, Edwin Arroyave, filed for divorce in November 2024. However, Edwin has been very much stepping into the role of caregiver for his estranged wife.
And Teddi isn’t holding back. She’s been sticking to a workout routine, which even includes horseback riding. The Bravolebrity is embracing positivity. And also has a gorgeous new look after having to shave her head for surgery. Teddi’s resilience is shining through, and that seems to have attracted a new suitor into her life.

“I’ve already been on more dates with new people,” Teddi said during the March 21 episode of the Diamonds in the Rough podcast. “I went on a first date pre-the thing, and then I went on a second date yesterday actually. He’s really cute and nice.”
Podcast cohost, Erika Jayne got a glimpse of Teddi’s new guy. Teddi showed EJ a photo and shared more about him. It’s worth noting that her mystery guy is not aware of her connections to the Real Housewives.
“He hasn’t asked me to have children yet, so we’re on the up and up,” the former Bravolebrity joked. “He’s 35. He works in events. Very kind.”
The RHOBH alum has been dealing with ongoing health issues since March of 2022 when she had the first of 17 melanomas removed. Unfortunately, tumors were recently discovered in Teddi’s brain after suffering debilitating headaches. The larger ones were surgically removed. But the former Bravolebrity is now doing radiation to deal with the remaining tumors.
Despite jumping back into many of her physical activities, Teddi joked about the trepidation of dating in the middle of radiation. She asked, “Is this OK? Are you OK? Did the doctors say you could date? I know they said you could ride horses. Is this right? What am I living through?”

Erika offered to get on the phone with Teddi’s new man and bust his chops a bit. The RHOBH star joked, “Do I need to get on the phone with this fool? How about this? How about we just take it day by day?”
In the midst of moving her life forward, Teddi praised her ex-husband for his continued support. “Edwin has been amazing, like beyond,” she said. “He showed up. He has been there. And he has been an amazing caregiver.”
However, there are aspects of her previous life that Teddi mourns. And the excitement of starting new doesn’t negate certain aspects of her current friendship with Edwin.
“This is going to sound crazy but … I hadn’t had a true hug,” Teddi explained. “Friend hugs are very different. I felt this weird sadness.”
“You got the butterflies,” Erika exclaimed. “Live your damn life.”
