In contrast to headlines suggesting that agents arrived at the actor’s home, Affleck revealed that their visit had nothing to do with him.

GQ published an interview with Ben Affleck on March 25, and the actor leveraged it to clear the rumors about the FBI visiting his LA home. Setting the record straight, the Oscar winner explained that the federal agents’ presence in the neighborhood was irrelevant to him. Additionally, he learned about the visit after the media reported the incident.
Recounting the events, Affleck told GQ, “I come home and see there’s a story with sources that say, ‘Hey, the FBI was at your house.’” Finding it “strange,” the actor revealed he decided to call the FBI. Affleck asked the agents, “Hey FBI, were you at my house?” adding, “Do you want to talk to me?” Further unveiling his experience, the actor recalled that the bureau transferred him multiple times. Nevertheless, he eventually learned that the FBI was in the area to investigate a break-in at a federal official’s home.
When the incident occurred, tabloids linked the FBI’s visit with a local drone for claiming he was “talking to the police about that situation.” Affleck reflected how quickly such narratives blow minor events out of proportion. Unsurprisingly, Affleck’s private life is often at the center of media scrutiny, but the actor was certain “There’s nothing newsworthy at all about the day-to-day events of my life.”
Affleck expanded upon his ordinary reality, recalling how his ex-wife Jennifer Garner would ask their children to take rumors with a grain of salt. Affleck quipped how Garner had joked, “Otherwise, you’d have 15 brothers or sisters.” The viral FBI debacle supported his claim that his life is “drama-free” despite the media’s constant prying. Ironically, just like them, Ben Affleck had to “track it down” why the FBI visited his home to debunk the widespread rumor.
