It looks like Alan Cumming is stepping out of The Traitors’ castle and into the Marvel Cinematic Universe! In case you missed it, Disney dropped an hours-long livestream where they slowly announced the Avengers: Doomsday cast.

Of course, there were some expected Marvel names like Anthony Mackie and Paul Rudd. Eventually, they started rolling out some of the original X-Men cast from the 2000s. That’s where Alan comes into play.

The Avengers: Doomsday cast added reality TV host Alan Cumming to the MCU

Marvel announced a total of 26 actors joining the upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday. The movie will have Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Doctor Doom. We’re still trying to figure out how they’re going to make that work, but stranger things are happening in this lineup.

Alan played the role of Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler, back in the 2003 X-Men sequel. In yesterday’s announcement for Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel confirmed that a handful of those X-Men characters would be reprising their roles, including Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Alan celebrated the MCU news on Instagram by uploading a video of himself bouncing around like Nightcrawler. He captioned the post: “Never say never.”

In the comments, you could spot a ton of former Traitors players sharing words of support for the king of the castle. Everyone from Johnny Bananas to Derrick Levasseur showed their excitement for Nightcrawler.

One of the biggest shoutouts came from Danielle Reyes, who just wrapped up a whirlwind run on Season 3 of The Traitors. The grandmother and gamer wrote a whole paragraph showing her love for Alan and Nightcrawler, and honestly, we couldn’t agree with her more.

“Nightcrawler!!! Thank you for committing to this endearing character. This is one of my favorite Marvel characters. Nightcrawler is lowkey one of the coldest characters ever,” Danielle wrote.

She continued, “Straight up looks like a demon, teleporting through smoke, tail swinging—but man’s got hella faith, heart, and a moral compass that stays locked in. Crazy.”

Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated for May 1, 2026. In the meantime, The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
