Lisa Rinna Blames RHOBH Exit on Fans

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Rinna has finally revealed why she truly left the show in a recent interview. Or at least her reason for leaving the show. And the answer may surprise some people.

Lisa is known for being rather expressive during her RHOBH tenure. This lack of “holding back” as Tamra Judge puts it is what makes Lisa a great housewife and why Tamra wants her back on the show. However, it’s also that same quality that got Lisa in trouble.

Lisa Rinna says fan backlash got too much during RHOBH

Because of her frankness, Lisa has famously feuded with Kathy Hilton and fought with Denise Richards. She’s also gotten backlash from fans and, as it turns out, it was this backlash that proved too much for her.

Lisa appeared on the Therapuss podcast hosted by Jake Shane and noted that social media made it very difficult in the end to be on RHOBH.

“In the beginning, we wrote blogs,” she shared. “You would have to watch the show, and you’d write and blog about it. That’s a long time ago. Then it became social media, and everybody got really comfortable behind their computers saying anything.”

And the online backlash of the “fans” apparently “ran her off the show.”

“It wasn’t Bravo (although she’s had her fair share of butting heads with Andy Cohen), it wasn’t the girls,” Lisa explained. “It was the fanbase. They villainized me in a way and I just didn’t want to live like that anymore. And that is the truth. The fanbase has to know it’s because of them I left the show and that’s something I think they don’t want the responsibility for.”

She reiterated that as the fanbase turned on her, it was just too much to deal with and she decided to leave the show. She says she’s been much happier since.

Lisa has also been very vocal about never returning to RHOBH. Now, she’s focused on fashion events, acting, and her new podcast with husband Harry Hamlin. And she also says she remains friends with the girls “she connected with” during the show.

“So I don’t feel like I’m completely out of it even though I am completely out of it. I get to see the girls I love,” she finished.
