Erika Jayne and Garcelle Beauvais have never been the best of friends. The two Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars have both had strong opinions and made sure to voice them over the seasons. Season 14 has been one for the record books, as Garcelle has made it her mission to speak out about a few inconveniences she has witnessed. But the Pretty Mess singer hasn’t been a fan and has thrown a few low blows of her own.
Garcelle Beauvais is leaving RHOBH after five seasons
Earlier this week, Garcelle revealed that she wouldn’t return for another season of RHOBH. In a social media post, she shared, “It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless.” The actor shared, “One of the reasons I’m leaving is my family, my boys. And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing, and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now, but you’ll know soon.” Garcelle had an impressive final season and is walking away with her head held high.
However, there seemed to be trouble at the reunion. The sneak peek showed Garcelle being yelled at by Erika and most of the other women. At one point, things became so heated that the Coming to America actor chose to walk off the reunion stage. She was heard saying, “I am just so f*cking sick of it. I can’t be friends with people like that. I don’t trust them. They’re all f*cking *ssholes.” Garcelle refused to return to the reunion and didn’t participate in the group photo at the end of the reunion.
Why Erika Jayne and Bozoma Saint John are being called ‘mean girls’
Erika and Bozoma Saint John both appeared on Watch What Happens Live and were asked by Andy Cohen about their thoughts on Garcelle’s departure. Both women sat quietly, making the question extremely awkward. Andy then noted, “Ladies, you have no thoughts on it?” Cameras panned to Boz and Erika’s tight lips, with Erika finally saying, “Won’t he do it?” She claimed the response was an inside joke. Boz eventually said, “Look, I’m disappointed that she is departing like this. I wish that she would have stuck around to work out another season.”
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans quickly look to the comments to call the two guests ‘mean girls.” One follower wrote, “Their reactions say more about THEM than Garcelle. Mean, mean, mean. And gauche AF. Expected more of Boz, at least.” Another added, “It’s honestly just giving mean girls.” The comments kept coming with another writing, “This was a horrible episode. Definitely gives mean, hateful energy. I’m shocked because in every interview Garcelle did, she said nothing but nice things about @badassboz.” It left many fans questioning what happened to the sisterhood.
Erika Jayne had a decent season on RHOBH this year
Before the Watch What Happens Live episode, I’d argue that Erika had a pretty decent season. She mostly kept her composure, with the exception of going after Sutton Stracke on the high seas. Erika shared a big part of her journey with her estranged husband. She opened up to fans about moving on through her depression and even was able to remodel some of her house. She and Garcelle even seemed to be working on their friendship. In the season finale, Erika spoke out at dinner, noting she didn’t conspire against Sutton. And Garcelle told her that she believed her.
But the way Erika acted at the reunion and on WHHL makes her look like she might have been putting on a show. Could Erika have been posing as a friend but really working as an enemy? Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley also didn’t acknowledge Garcelle’s departure. All I know is that Garcelle left on top. She used the platform the way it should’ve been used, making it clear she didn’t need them and that they needed her. Well done, Queen.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on Peacock.
