Remember when Randall Emmett was known for playing pickleball and hanging out with the Vanderpump Rules cast? Of course, at the time, he was still together with his ex-fiancée, Lala Kent. And he seemed to enjoy being on camera. So, finding out that Randall was hanging out with John Travolta made me … confused. Allow me to explain.
Why was John Travolta with Lala Kent’s ex Randall Emmett?
As you may recall, Lala dumped Randall when he allegedly cheated on her. He was also having financial difficulties. The couple shares one daughter, Ocean Kent. Recently, after an exhausting three-year custody battle, Randall and Lala came to a custody agreement.
So how does Randall know John? It turns out that Randall directed John in the film Cash Out, but under a pseudonym. Reportedly, Randall directed the film under the flashy name “Ives.”
Here is where it gets interesting. John went to Papi Steak Miami Beach, which is co-owned by David “Papi” Einhorn and Dave Grutman, to try a new menu item – the Beefcase. Randall was there, as was rapper Quavo. According to PEOPLE, Randall directed both Quavo and John in the film High Rollers.
As you may recall, John starred in the 1994 iconic film Pulp Fiction. In the movie, John played Vincent Vega, who joined Samuel L. Jackson’s character, Jules Winnfield, on a quest to find a special briefcase.
In one of the most memorable scenes in the movie, Vincent opened a rhinestone-covered briefcase. While the audience couldn’t see the contents, Vincent seemed happy enough. So, John popped in to try the new dish, which is an homage to the movie. A huge piece of beef is presented in a gold-plated briefcase. Yum?
Plus, John and Dave Einhorn reenacted the legendary scene, with John nodding his head after opening the case and checking out the meat. If you want to live your own Pulp Fiction fantasy, it will cost you. The steak costs a cool $1,000. For that amount of money, I expect John to reenact the scene and recreate the iconic dance scene. And throw in a royale with cheese!
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
