We’re counting down the days until Celebrity Big Brother UK, and the casting rumors are starting to get interesting. We previously learned that JoJo Siwa could be joining the cast, but this latest name is even wilder. A new report suggests that 72-year-old Mickey Rourke will be competing in the upcoming season of CBB.
Mickey Rourke joins the Celebrity Big Brother cast
The news of the Oscar-nominated actor joining CBB was first reported by The Sun. According to their insiders, the producers for the 2025 series were aiming to get a big Hollywood name in the house. They’ve never had a celebrity on the show with quite this much name recognition.
“Sharon Osbourne was an impressive name last series but a Hollywood icon of Mickey’s standing brings a huge amount of clout,” the source explained.
The insider continued, “The tales that man has to tell will no doubt be legendary and bosses hope it could replicate the success of Sharon last year, who was very loose-lipped when it came to dishing the dirt on famous faces.”
Not only does Mickey bring over four decades of history in showbiz, but he also brings an outspoken personality and a questionable past. Throughout his career, he gained a reputation for being difficult to work with, which is the exact type of personality that thrives on reality TV.
Plus, Mickey’s upcoming run on Celebrity Big Brother won’t be his first time in the world of reality TV. In 2020, he competed as the Gremlin on The Masked Singer but unmasked himself in the middle of his performance. Fingers crossed he does better on CBB.
