Survivor Season 48 Episode 6 is here, and somebody is “Doing the Damn Thing,” according to the latest installment’s title. The New Era gameplay is going hard this season, as another stunning blindside rocked Bianca’s world last week. Now, with merge on the horizon, who will make it? And who will just miss out on a place in this season’s Jury?
What happened in Survivor 48 Episode 6?

Survivor Season 48 Episode 6 saw the merge officially come together. But not before one more player was sent packing. The Jury hasn’t yet started, but it is right around the corner. One tribemate is getting on nearly everybody’s merge, and an alliance unlike many we’ve seen in the New Era has come together. Whether or not it can last is another thing entirely. All of that and more on Survivor 48 Episode 6: “Doing the Damn Thing.”
Sai’s not impressed with Cedrek after tribal

“Cedrek, I am not open to talking to you, because you continue to lie,” Sai says back at camp. Well, that’s one way to open an episode. I thought Sai might be learning to try and keep her emotions in check so she could make her way through this game, but those hopes were dashed within seconds of Survivor 48 Episode 6 starting. “You don’t know what happened,” he reminds Sai. But she’s frustrated, and only open to speaking with Mitch and Chrissy. Still, Cedrek does his best to explain.
“Bianca was working all of us,” he says. He only got the opportunity to tell Chrissy what she was up to before the vote. Fortunately, their votes were enough to send her packing. “Sai’s frustrated and confused, but she has no idea that I’m the reason [she’s] still here right now.” As Sai realizes Cedrek voted with her, rather than against her, the penny drops.
Mitch isn’t happy. “I just look like a fool … Survivor, it’s not just fun. If you don’t have your crap together in this game, it could easily be you whose torch is snuffed out.” I’m hopeful Mitch can move his way out of this one. I’m growing to like him, but if I was a player, he’d be way too charismatic to allow much deeper into the game…
Survivor 48’s merge has arrived, nearly

It’s time for the Survivor 48 merge (kinda), and Kyle’s excited to get to the next phase of the game. He and Kamilla seemed dead in the water, but somehow, they’ve made it through. As for Sai? “I needed this. I mean, I like y’all a lot, but…” She certainly has a way with words. Then there’s David, who’s a “little disappointed.” He liked being the single guy surrounded by women. “Survivor limbo. We’ve got no buffs; we’ve got no tribe. Now is the time to truly test just how good your social game and relationships have been.” Ain’t that the truth! And some of these castmates really need to solidify their social game, or they’ll be headed out of camp for good.
Sai and Mary exchange a hug upon their reunion, and it’s the partnership nobody expected. Sai’s excited, but Mary has knots in her stomach. “I just wanna start fresh,” the latter says in confessional. Something tells me Sai is about to get her heart broken.
As the merge comes together, they’re given a message. They have their first individual immunity challenge coming up, and an advantage is hidden for one person on the beach. Of course, this descends into a mad dash. “This is every man for themselves,” Charity says. She’s trailing Sai, and somehow sees the advantage out in the middle of the field – but Sai gets there first. Exactly what it is remains to be seen; it must be presented to Jeff at the challenge. And while Sai recognizes this may make her a target, she’s ready to play.
Just two men bonding over chocolate milk

David and Joe are big guys, and those types of players always seem to come together in this game. Survivor 48 is no different, except in the fact that the pair are bonding over their shared love of drinking “a gallon of milk a day.”
Of course, Joe’s number one priority is Eva. He’ll never forget last week’s emotional moment at the challenge. “I don’t know many [people] who came out here and helped a human in genuine need, and got them out of it … everything else is icing on the cake.”
With Eva, Joe asks about David. She says he’s legit, and wants “to play an honest game with integrity.” She tells Joe that he has Kyle, and they can bring Shauhin in for a tight alliance. With a target on both Eva and Joe’s back due to their bond, they need a watertight plan. Eva shares her idol news, but also reveals the whole of her last tribe knows she has it. It’s news Charity shares with Kamilla, Chrissy, and Mitch; and she wants Eva out first.
“The game doesn’t have to be this new generation of stabbing people in the back, and doing crazy moves, just for the pizzazz,” Joe says in confessional. He wants to rewrite Survivor, with a group of physical threats, and David’s on board. Kyle’s not entirely convinced by Shauhin, though. “Keep an eye over your shoulder, because that guy will try and cut us when it comes time.”
Sadly, with Kyle being on board with that alliance, his allyship with Kamilla may be going down the toilet. But she’s making her own bonds. The divide is becoming clear already; but which side will come out on top?
Will Star ask Eva for the immunity idol?

In a conversation with Charity, Star is encouraged to ask for her idol back from Eva. “I feel bad,” Star says. Eva was, after all, the one who solved the puzzle lock. “It’s your idol. Do not feel bad when there’s a million dollars on the line,” Charity says. But Star’s not convinced, and thinks Charity is “stirring up the pot.” With this information, Star runs back to Eva, who calls Charity “extremely fake.” Now, knowing she wants her head, it’s a battle of these two women.
As the next day rolls around, a challenge is thrown at the players. They’re split into two teams of six; one of which will earn the merge meal. The losing six will watch the winning team compete in an individual challenge, where the last person standing earns individual immunity and their merge buff. Anyone else will be up for the chop at tribal council, where the sixth person voted out will fail to officially make the merge.
Sai’s advantage is that she doesn’t have to compete in the first challenge; she’ll go straight through to the individual portion of the challenge, and gets a spot at the merge feast. A pretty major advantage indeed.
Kamilla, David, Mary, Kyle, Star, and Chrissy pull out the team win, leaving Mitch, Charity, Joe, Cedrek, Eva, and Shauhin vulnerable. In the next phase of the challenge, Sai steps up. Only one can win immunity – and that’s Kyle, after an intense showdown.
Strategy talks begin after the challenge ends

At the feast, strategy picks up. Star names Charity as a choice, and Chrissy says she’s heard Eva. Mitch’s block-a-vote and Eva’s idol are exposed, but Star pretends she knew nothing about Eva having an idol. Awkward…
At camp, Cedrek recognizes he’s the cause of his team losing the merge feast. He’s genuinely emotional about letting others down. Then, talk turns to tribal. Charity says it could be an “easy” choice, but Joe disagrees. He doesn’t even think it should be easy.
“The paranoia is unreal,” Mitch admits. “Tonight, we’re going with 13 people. 13 people are casting a vote. It’s gonna be absolute chaos tonight.”
Charity is pushing Eva to Mitch, but says it will be easier to go with someone like Sai. She’s a wildcard, and has been rubbing some of the players the wrong way. At the feast, Sai is pushing Eva as the bigger threat.
“Sai has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way … a likeable personality thrives on Survivor.” Even Cedrek seems tired of his former closest ally’s antics.
Chatting with Eva and Shauhin, Joe says their group have to “play it cool.” Shauhin is pushing Charity, and Joe thinks that’s a “rock solid” plan. “She’s playing real loud, over the top … on top of that, I don’t think there is a Civa six strong, but I don’t want to give them that opportunity … moving forward,” says Shauhin.
Later, Cedrek suffers a breakdown. “I’ve cried way too much out here,” he admits, while Star comforts him. “You’re doing it for all the fathers out here … you remember that. Your kids watching you will be proud.” She’s really improved her social game this week.
Who gets voted out of Survivor 48 Episode 6?

Charity Nelms was voted out during Survivor Season 48 Episode 6, by a vote of 7-5-1.
Eva found out before tribal that Sai was “causing chaos” and wanted her out. So, she put her rift with Charity aside to try and target her. Mary told Joe that Sai would “gaslight” him in the game. “Sai’s like a venomous snake; Charity’s like a turtle. I’m not scared of a turtle.”
Before the vote, David said this was a season of “honesty and integrity.” Jeff kinda scoffed at his commentary, because this was his first tribal council. As the votes came in, no advantages or idols were played.
As Charity left, Jeff gave the remaining 12 players their merge buffs. The game has officially entered its next phase. But who will make it through? We’ll get closer to that answer when Survivor returns next week.
Survivor 48 continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
