Garcelle Beauvais quit The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on March 25, 2025. It was all cordial at first, but naturally, the cracks started to surface. There was trouble at the reunion, and those negative emotions added weight to Garcelle’s decision to leave. So when she made her departure announcement, there was already bad blood between herself and the RHOBH cast.
Add that to internet commentary about the producer and actress’ decision to quit. Certainly, there should be little to question when Garcelle, as a mother, wants to focus on her twin sons Jaid and Jax. And one person with professional ties to Garcelle defended her character and departure.
Garcelle Beauvais earned high praise from former RHOBH producer Patrick McDonald
Producer Patrick McDonald shared his experience working with the former RHOBH star. He spoke highly of her interactions with the crew members and commended her for walking away after five seasons to prioritize her sons.
“I just wanna touch quickly on Garcelle announcing her departure on the show. Because I’ve seen some widely negative things said about her online,” Patrick said in a video message posted to X.
He continued, “I could go on for days about what a pleasure Garcelle was to work with. But if you really want to measure the character of a Real Housewife, ask the crew members who they like to shoot with the most. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat the people that they think can do nothing for them.”
Sneak peeks of the RHOBH reunion indicate that Garcelle was in the hot seat with some of her former costars. Perhaps that disconnect pushed her to leave. Patrick pointed to a certain graciousness that Garcelle had with his crew.
“Any morning when the crew found out that we were spending the day with Garcelle, they were ecstatic. And they most definitely do not feel that way about all of the ladies on the show. And I’m so proud of Garcelle for prioritizing her life over a television show,” he concluded.
