Brittany Cartwright is experiencing many highs and lows right now. On the latter, this star just received another gut punch courtesy of the cancellation of her newest project, a bar called Britt’s WeHo. After helping her estranged ex-husband, Jax Taylor, open his bar, Brittany felt delighted to receive an offer to open a separate jaunt nearby. Now, for reasons of her own non-chosing, this dream is DOA.

As visions of beer cheese played in her head, Brittany was excitedly ramping up for her next chapter of life. Newly single and ready to mingle, this was her opportunity to show her fans that she could also hold down a viable business alongside her spot on the cast of The Valley. Brittany now feels devastated by this loss, as the following details prove.

Brittany Cartwright announced her bar Britt’s WeHo in November 2024

Brittany announced her new bar via the November 8, 2024, episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits. However, following her separation from Jax, their formerly shared podcast is now a solo venture aptly titled When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright. With this history lesson complete, let us dive into what Brittany first shared about this project.

“I’m just going to go ahead and break the news,” she began, adding, “You all know we [her and Jax] started the bar-restaurant business, and we started with Jax’s. A lot has changed since we started that. I did a lot to help that place. I put Mamaw’s Beer Cheese on the menu [and] I did all the flowers,” Brittany stressed.

Brittany continued recalling her efforts, which included decorations at her estranged spouse’s bar. Brittany also “showed up when Jax couldn’t be there. I tried my hardest to keep everything going [and] I [also] love the partners that we have there.” Speaking of these partners, “they recently came” to her with an offer, which she agreed to.

Cue her announcement that “Britt’s is coming to WeHo! Brittany then revealed that she would “be a part owner, [but] Jax’s is still very near and dear to me because I helped start that,” she reiterated. Brittany next revealed that her new bar would be located in West Hollywood, “Right across from where I started. SUR, TomTom is three doors down from me. Like, it is in the best location ever,” she gushed.

In February 2025, Brittany Cartwright offered a bar update

As her former colleagues on Vanderpump Rules know, bars and restaurants take a long time to open. Permits and internal decisions are a bitch. So are the lengths their contractors must take to ensure everything built is ADA-compliant and safe for their future patrons. After likely receiving many questions in her DMs about a potential opening date, Brittany returned to her podcast last February 2025 with an update.

“Yes, I am still opening my restaurant,” Brittany began. “I’m so excited. Britt’s WeHo will be opening soon,” she underscored, noting that her hopes saw this opening date happening sometime around “late March-ish.”

Addressing the delays, Brittany admitted that this process was “taking a little bit longer to get off the ground because we go in, and we’re trying to redo everything, so different things happen along the way,” she emphasized. Nevertheless, Brittany was excited about this project, which she (and her business partners) named Britt’s WeHo. This new bar, albeit right next to Jax’s, was hers and hers alone. Brittany could decorate, serve, and party plan as she saw fit, which she was eager to do.

But then, that dreaded life constant of change entered the chat, ruining her chances to co-own this new bar.

Sadly, Brittany Cartwright confirmed her bar Britt’s WeHo is no longer happening in April 2025

The curtains are closing over at Britt’s WeHo, Brittany recently announced on her podcast. The owners of Rocco’s, the bar that Britt’s and Jax’s bars are attached to, sold. “The partners straight up sold it. [They] didn’t tell me that they were going to sell it [nor did they] communicate with me whatsoever,” Brittany grieved.

Brittany had already put a lot of effort into her bar. She “completely decorated everything [and] ordered everything, [like] the wallpaper,” “new seedings,” and “chandeliers. We ordered everything on January 7. So, I thought that [the bar] was happening up until this week,” she sighed.

Brittany had a lot on the line. Yet, the owners allegedly never included her in this conversation. Their oversight leaves Brittany feeling embarrassed.

Brittany had spent months talking about her new bar, thinking that “it was happening.” Brittany believes this makes her “look like a liar, and that’s not the case whatsoever,” she voiced.

Thankfully, other options are now on the table, which Brittany will “think about.” One of these options sees her “taking over a couple of nights at Jax’s and maybe changing the name.” However, Brittany is not interested in wading into a business with Jax again. “So, we’ll see what happens in the future,” she ended.

The Valley is streaming on Peacock.
