When news that the OG Vanderpump Rules cast was being cut loose, it must have stung. After all, these cast members made the gloriously messy show successful. However, Lisa Vanderpump was moving the series into the next era with a new cast of SURvers. Recently, Pump Rules alum Scheana Shay weighed in on her current relationship with Lisa.
Scheana Shay says Lisa Vanderpump only gets in touch if she “needs something”
Lisa recently talked about the VPR reboot. And some cast members didn’t reach out to her when news broke that the show was changing course. “I do love them all regardless of their antics and their foibles,” Lisa said. “There’s a deep love just because of what we’ve been through together and seeing them at such a young age.”
While Lisa heard from Tom Schwartz, James Kennedy, and Lala Kent, she didn’t hear from Katie Maloney. Lisa said, “I think Ariana [Madix] texted me or tweeted me or something.” She continued, “It’s strange because I’m not saying they should be grateful to me – but they should be grateful for the show. But that show gave them a plethora of opportunities they wouldn’t necessarily have had.”
Well, Scheana was a guest on the podcast Two Ts in a Pod, and she was asked about where her relationship with Lisa stands now. “I don’t talk to her too often. She usually calls when she needs something,” Scheana said. Ouch! “That was recent when I talked to her. She had a question about a friend of mine on another show of hers, and that was pretty much it,” she added.
Of course, Scheana will make appearances on Season 2 of The Valley. Lisa is an executive producer on the series. “She’s technically an executive producer. She doesn’t know anything going on [on the show],” Scheana explained.
As for Scheana? She appeared on Season 13 of The Masked Singer as the bat, showing off her pipes. Plus, she has a memoir due out this summer. I’m sure Scheana’s book will be on the must-read list for many Pump Rules fans.
